    we had a great stay in this hotel. absolutely amazing, love the view of the river while we had our relaxing hotspring ( we also had our own in the room ). the food was delicious, all the staff were friendly kind and helpful. we had a wonderful time. thanks a lot 💗

    When I booked the hotel, the only option left was the room was a private bath. With breakfast and dinner served, I thought the price was great compared to other ryokans I've stayed at. It exceeded expectations! The room itself was clean and VERY spacious, a luxury I haven't had despite my multiple trips to Japan. Though, there was a slight smell in the dressing room area (near the toilet). Toshimaya is just 1 min away from Yamaguchi bus stop, and a stone's throw away from the bridge to the public footbath on the other side of the river. My gripes? I wasn't aware there were no lifts, and our room was on the 4th floor vs the dining room on the 1st floor and public baths at B1. Also, the nicer public bath (there are 2, and they switch at night) has a very open view... I could barely soak in the morning; I was admiring the river submerged only waist down when I saw people walking along the bridge and realised that if I can see them, they can see me?? I left quickly. (I went on the bridge again later and confirmed that the bath is risky)
