Continue the history lesson at National Trust’s Brockhampton (7 miles), where you can cross the moat to explore the medieval manor before letting younger visitors loose on the orchard play trail. Ledbury (10 miles) makes an easy afternoon out too, with its black-and-white Market House, tucked-away lanes and independent shops to browse. Alternatively, head to Leominster (20 miles) to rummage through its antiques shops, or pack your walking boots and spend the day among the wooded slopes and far-reaching views of the Malvern Hills (2.5 miles). Keen golfers will love the panoramic greens at Ross-on-Wye Golf Club (21 miles away). Malvern Three Counties Showground is 9 miles away.
