Quiet residential neighborhood at the south end of Virginia Beach (23456) near Sandbridge Beach and Lago Mar. Characterized by single-family homes, vacation properties, canals and back-bay access; close to Shore Drive, Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge, local restaurants/groceries in Sandbridge and easy access to fishing/boating. The vibe is relaxed and outdoors-focused — more secluded than the Oceanfront and good for families, beach trips and nature.
Most guests rely on a car — the neighborhood is spread out and not highly walkable for errands. Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) operates regional bus routes and the VB Wave/Trolley services the resort area, but direct fixed-route frequency in Sandbridge/Lago Mar is limited. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft), taxis and local shuttle services are commonly used for trips to the Oceanfront, restaurants or Norfolk. Bicycle use is common for short local trips; bring or provide parking and clear directions for guests without cars.
