Walk to the Beach From This East End Retreat

Overall, we thought this condo was a great location and good value. We loved being able to walk into Provincetown (about 20 minutes to center of town), and being across the street from the beach was great, especially as we had our kayaks with us and it made getting them in the water very easy. It should be noted this is a 3rd floor unit with no elevator. Not a big deal for us, but I know it can be for some. Having said that, the 3rd floor has benefits, the best being a deck off the bedroom, which you get to via a small ladder and half door. It would be difficult or impossible for anyone with mobility issues, but for us it was awkward but worth it for the view. There was a closet with beach chairs and we definitely appreciated that as well. The neighbors in the building were all really friendly and great.

Just a few notes. First, since there is no dishwasher, there were quite a few items in the drawers and cabinets that needed to be rewashed and obviously nothing could be sanitized. While the kitchen space is small, there is definitely room for a small dishwasher to be installed and that would be a great addition. Second, the refrigerator and freezer are compact models and really need to be labeled. We figured it out, but there needs to be more information. Third, there was no house manual we could find, which would also be helpful. But there was information sent to us, which was helpful. But the information on where to find the lock boxes needs to be more clear, specifically that there are 2 lockboxes. Fourth, we had a few wish list items for the kitchen. I did not see any baking dishes, only pans for the induction range. There is a Keurig, and more than enough coffee pods for the week. We did not see a kettle, and for sure an electric kettle would have been great. Also, a water filter on the sink or water filtration pitcher is definitely needed. The tab water did not taste good for drinking or cooking. Fifth, the space is quite compact, just 2 rooms, a full bath and half bath (which was really nice to have), plus the deck. The layout of the living area could be better. When we arrived the dining table was so close to the entry door you could only open the door partially. Again, not a big deal, and overall, we definitely would stay again, mostly for the location. Having said all this, I'm a property manager and have been taking care of rentals for almost 20 years, so I think I notice more than the average person and am always looking at how a space can be improved.
