Maisie's Cottage

Comfortable, quiet cottage in an excellent location. Well equipped and pleasantly decorated. There were new mattresses on the beds which were very comfortable. The owners were welcoming, showed us around and introduced us to the property. There was no one staying in their adjoining rental house facing the river so the owners allowed us to park in the driveway and use the garden on the river for relaxation.

My wife and I like a shower with good water flow so we can shower quickly. The property's shower head seems to have a water flow restrictor which we know is common but is something we have removed from our home showers. We do not waste water because, as mentioned above, we like to have short showers. We suggest removing the flow restrictor though we acknowledge that some guests may not be so frugal with the water use. If guests were staying in the adjoining rental property, the driveway and garden would be for their exclusive use. Privacy would also be compromised because of the proximity of the other guests. However, for a large family or two or three small families it is possible to rent the two properties together as they are connected by a door.

Location convenient for walking to the town center and beaches. Hosts were cheerful, thoughtful and respectful. Interior decoration was very pleasant and comfortable. Full working kitchen was very good for our purposes.

The road was busy with commuter traffic and a bit too noisy. Outdoor seating for this cottage was limited to the front veranda facing the road, although we were fortunate that the hosts allowed us to use the very pleasant outdoor space at the rear of the property that overlooks the river because they didn't have other guests staying in that part of the property.

Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Location was perfect. Loved the old style and feel of the house

Beds were too hard Couch needs replacement, it is old and base has collapsed so very uncomfortable
