Serene 4-bedroom Craftsman cottage with Pool & Studio on Shelter Island

Enjoy a peaceful stay at this 4-bedroom private cottage on Shelter Island. Built in 1935, the house has old school Shelter Island charm with all the modern amenities. Downstairs in the main house you will find a comfortable living room with wood burning fireplace, books, and games, the dining room with space for 8 around the antique pine table, and a great cook's kitchen. There are also two queen bedrooms downstairs, a full bathroom, and a large screened front porch with comfortable seating. Upstairs is the TV room and the Primary bedroom. The en suite bath has marble tile, a bidet Toto toilet and a large step in shower. There is also a captain's bed tucked into the upstairs landing for any extra naps or guests. The main house was fully renovated last year and has central air throughout. Outside the kitchen there is a brick terrace with a large Weber gas grill, as well as a sofa, chairs and an umbrella for relaxing among the flowers and herbs. The separate skylit studio has another queen bed, a half bath inside and an outdoor shower outside the back door. The 60' x 12' heated pool is fun for laps or lounging and the back and front yards are landscaped, fully hedged, and private. The cottage is exactly one mile from Wades Beach and within easy walking distance to playgrounds, the ball field, and Shelter Island Town's main street (with wine store, library, brewery, book store, super market...) It is also a quick walk or bike to the Saturday morning Farmer's market and the best pizza around. I have three bikes available for your explorations as well as beach chairs and towels, badminton, pool floats, and pickle ball racquets for the free tennis/pickle ball courts a short walk away. Some last things to note: I have a dog and while the house is very clean it may not be right if you have severe pet allergies. The back yard is fully fenced and safe for pups, although be mindful that the pool is accessible to both pets and children since it is not separately fenced from the house. (There are door alarms on all doors that lead to the pool and an alarm in the pool itself in case something falls in.) Lastly there are only parking spaces for three cars, and the laundry is located in the basement which requires going down somewhat steep stairs.
