About this house rental
This small farmhouse, built in 1860, is beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the fjord and the mountains. Here you can enjoy peace and quiet in a large garden with lovely hiking trails right outside your door. A sturdy 14-foot motorboat is ready and waiting in the nearby harbor—perfect for a fishing trip on the fjord. You’re welcome to grill your catch on the homemade barrel grill.
The house is practically laid out over two floors. On the ground floor, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room with a fireplace. There’s also a spacious entryway, a guest bathroom, and a bright, glass-enclosed porch. The second floor features a bathroom, two spacious bedrooms, and a sunny balcony. The house stays warm year-round with a wood-burning stove and electric heating.
The large 6-acre property invites exploration, with shrubs, flowers, and many beautiful spots to enjoy the view from. The balcony is a favorite spot for morning coffee, while the garden is perfect for evening gatherings. Hiking trails in the forest start right from the property—no driving required.
The center of Sjøvegan is 11 minutes away, with shops and cafes. Garsnes Brygge offers good food, a swimming beach, a hot tub, and a sauna—15 minutes by car or a lovely boat ride under the midnight sun.
