Built in 1900, Parley House is a traditional Victorian home that has been carefully updated to provide comfortable accommodation for modern guests while retaining the character and atmosphere of its heritage.
The house is arranged over three floors, with all bedrooms located on the upper floors. Guests should therefore be comfortable using stairs, as at least one flight of stairs is required to reach all sleeping accommodation and bathroom facilities.
The property is within easy walking distance of the ferry terminal, town centre and marinas, but guests with significant mobility limitations or very heavy luggage may prefer to use a taxi from the ferry terminal. Taxis are readily available and there is also a regular bus service adjacent to the ferry terminal that stops 1 block away from Parley House.
For most guests, however, the walkable location is one of the property's greatest advantages and makes it possible to enjoy much of Cowes without needing a car.
The house was purchased as a place where family and friends could gather and enjoy the Isle of Wight together. Many of the furnishings, improvements and amenities were chosen because they make our own stays on the Island more enjoyable, and we hope our guests appreciate the same attention to detail.
The house comfortably accommodates up to eight guests and offers flexible sleeping arrangements suitable for couples, families, sailing crews and groups of friends.
The ground floor provides generous living space with an open kitchen and dining area, a comfortable lounge, and a bright conservatory overlooking the garden.
Outside, guests can enjoy a private enclosed garden, outdoor dining area, charcoal BBQ and practical outdoor space suitable for sailing gear, bicycles and other outdoor equipment.
One of the greatest advantages of Parley House is its location. The marinas, yacht clubs, ferry terminals, shops, pubs and restaurants of Cowes are all within easy walking distance.
