Blairgowrie sits in the premium zone of the southern Mornington Peninsula, between Sorrento and Rye. Quieter and more residential than the busier Sorrento village, but still walking distance to Blairgowrie's own cafes, IGA, butcher, and bottle shop.
The Port Phillip Bay front beach is just 500 metres away, calm and family friendly with the Blairgowrie Marina right beside it. The dramatic back beach and well known Bridgewater Bay on the surf coast are 1.8km in the other direction.
Sorrento village is 5 minutes drive for the best of the peninsula's restaurants and boutiques. Some of Australia's finest wineries are within 20 minutes, including Pt Leo Estate, Montalto, and Polperro. Peninsula Hot Springs is 25 minutes away. Pt Nepean National Park, the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry, and Cape Schanck lighthouse are all within easy reach.
Blairgowrie is approximately a 90 minute drive from Melbourne via the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. There's no public transport directly to the property, so you'll need a car for your stay.
Once you're here, the back beach, marina, and Blairgowrie village are all walkable. Sorrento, Portsea, Rye, and most peninsula wineries are short drives.
Uber and Didi do operate on the peninsula but availability is limited, particularly evenings and weekends. Plan ahead if you're heading out for dinner and don't want to drive. Taxis can be pre-booked through Sorrento Taxis on 03 5984 4444.
For day trips, the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry takes cars and passengers across the bay every 60 minutes. The terminal is 8 minutes drive from the property.
