About this house rental
Vintage elegance and timeless details define this character-filled home, creating a spacious and memorable base on Hobart's southern coastline. Rich with antique-inspired furnishings and thoughtfully curated décor, the main living area brings everyone together, whether you're curling up beside the wood fireplace, enjoying a movie on the TV, filling the home with music from the piano or gathering around the pool table for a friendly competition. A second sitting area and sunroom offer peaceful places to read, chat or enjoy views across the surrounding gardens.
The well-equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals, complemented by a breakfast bar, modern appliances and a dedicated coffee station with an espresso machine. The main dining table seats ten, while two additional dining areas provide space to spread out for a quiet meal or a board game between adventures.
Outside, established gardens wrap around the home, opening to a spacious lawn where Adirondack chairs circle a fire pit beneath mature trees. A paved seating area at the front offers another place to enjoy the fresh air, while the waterfront outlook provides an ever-changing backdrop throughout the day.
The primary bedroom features a king bed and an ensuite, separated from the sleeping area by curtains rather than a door. The second bedroom offers two king beds, while the third includes a king bed and the fourth features a queen bed. The ensuite showcases patterned tiles, botanical wallpaper, a shower and a bathtub, while a second bathroom with a bath-shower combination provides added convenience for groups.
A separate laundry with a washing machine, dryer and utility sink makes longer stays effortless. Split-system heating and cooling service the living area, dining area, kitchen and hallway, while the fireplace adds extra warmth to the main living area. Off-street driveway parking is provided for two cars, with the nearby foreshore, playground and boat ramp all within easy reach.
During your stay, you and your group will have the entire house to yourselves. Please make yourselves at home! Please note: The homeowners live in a separate residence at the rear of the property, with no shared areas.
Positioned on Margate's waterfront overlooking Northwest Bay, this home enjoys a peaceful setting in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Stroll along the foreshore to Margate Jetty or take a 12-minute walk to Dru Point Bicentennial Park, where picnic areas, a playground and waterfront trails offer beautiful views towards Mount Wellington.
A short drive away, the iconic Margate Train precinct transforms restored 1950s railway carriages into a collection of cafés, antique stores, a vintage lolly shop and the much-loved Pancake Train Restaurant. Nearby, Hopfields Brewery and the Margate Tavern serve local beers and casual dining, while The Channel Cafe and Appelflap Cafe are popular choices for coffee or brunch.
Due to local regulations, we can happily host you for up to 90 nights. Any bookings that exceed this duration will be cancelled by Vrbo.
