Kalama Park offers open space along the shore, and the Kamaole beach parks are well-known South Maui stops for swimming and sunset. Kihei has groceries, coffee, casual restaurants, and everyday conveniences close by, while Wailea and Makena lie to the south for a longer coastal outing. The area is a good match for a small family that wants the water nearby without the formality of a large resort.



Getting Around:

Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
