The Neighborhood:
Maui Kamaole sits at Kihei's south end, where beach days can stay wonderfully uncomplicated. Kamaole Beach Park III is across South Kihei Road for swimming, snorkeling, and a late-day sunset stroll, while Kamaole I and II extend the shoreline north. Head south toward Keawakapu Beach and Wailea when you want a change of scenery. Between outings, Kihei keeps casual meals, coffee, and groceries within easy reach. It is a sunshine-and-sand base for families, friends, and couples who want the beach to set the day's pace.
Getting Around:
Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
