The Compass Rose Valley

We got upgraded to a suite - room was lovely and beds were really comfy. Massages were great. In a really nice location in the middle of the jungle. Staff are so friendly and accommodating.

The restaurant menu is a bit limited and since there is only one restaurant it could get repetitive

We had a wonderful stay at Compass Rose Valley. The rooms look just as amazing as the photos and were spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly attentive and looked after our every need, with a special shout-out to Emik, who was the best! Whenever we asked for help organising taxis (and we needed several), they always responded promptly. The restaurant food is great and very reasonably priced. The included breakfast is generous, with plenty of choice. We also loved our spa massage. The setting is truly inspiring. You look out over the forest and it feels like you have the place to yourself, perfect for a reset. We would have loved to stay longer. Definitely a top hotel experience for us!!!

Just two things to keep in mind: - There’s no lift, so you’ll need to be comfortable with several flights of stairs but hotel staff are happy to help with bags. - The hotel is in a small village north of Ubud, so nothing is within walking distance. That said, the hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the town centre and can arrange taxis for you.

Great location away from the kaos of Ubud, but still accessible. Staff super helpful and friendly. Good breakfast and dining options and great views from every location of the resort.

Lots of stairs.
