Villa Floriana - Manarola

#1 savior was Roberto that met us at the train station and directed to the apartment. He also carried both of out carryon bags which would have been really difficult going up the 98 stairs to the apartment. That along with the balcony provided the higher rating. The location within Manarola is terrific - not far from the train station and close to the marina. The balcony is the best part of the place - large and a wonderful view of the harbor and has a mechanized shade covering. Being up in the hills, you are actually closer to some of the better dining spots.

Air conditioning did not work and there is no WIFI currently at the location. Be aware that there are 98 stairs from the street to the apartment but most lodging in manarola is going to have lots of stairs, especially if you want a view. People need to be aware that you have to turn on the hot water heater before using the water. Additionally, they should provide some basic toiletries such as shampoo and soap. A coffee maker would also be a really welcome addition. This location was only converted from a residence a couple of months ago so I gave them some leeway in working at these issues in my ratings.

We were picked up from the train station at La Spezia and was given a tour along the coast into Manarola. We were assisted with our luggage into our suite with a tour of the suite to ensure we were comfortable with everything. On the way to our suite, our host recommended restaurants and gelatorias that had great value. This was a perfect suite for my family of 4. Location was convenient to restaurants, shops and the water. Definitely one of the best sea view balconies around.

Regardless of where you stay, all of Cinque Terre is up hill and stairs.
