About this cabin rental
Our self-catering cabins, Swallow and Badger, have been awarded a ‘strong 3 Star Rating’ by Visit England. Our cabins are suitable for a person with restricted walking ability and for those who may need to use a wheelchair.
Each cabin sleeps 4 and has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom (all bedding and towels are provided). There is a single put-u-up bed for an extra guest and a travel cot available on request (please bring your own bedding for the cot). There is a level-entry shower room and a fully equipped kitchen-diner, with dishwasher, fridge, built-in fan oven and ceramic hob. Each cabin has parking for two cars alongside.
The living area has two comfortable settees and a television. You could even enjoy some al fresco dining on the spacious veranda where you can take in the view or do a spot of bird watching.
Situated just a few miles from Rutland Water and Oakham, The Lodge Country Park offers a variety of accommodation options, including two self-catered accessible cabins and caravan pitches for members of both the Camping and Caravanning Club and the Caravan and Motorhome Club.
Both Swallow and Badger cabins feature accessible entrances, spacious layouts with wheelchair turning space, wet rooms with grab rails and level-access showers, accessible kitchens, and step-free verandas. Our cabins sleep 4, and have a relaxed and homily feel with a fully equipped kitchen to allow you to flexibility to self-cater. The cabins sit side by side, so both can easily be booked for larger party's, dogs can also visit when customers book Badger cabin.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the park is a peaceful retreat where red kites and hares can often be spotted from the decking of the cabins and caravan pitches. Set within 10 acres of meadowland the country park provides gentle walking routes, perfect for stretching your legs and enjoying the scenery throughout the day.
Our onsite café is open Monday to Friday, 9:30am–4:00pm, serving fresh, seasonal produce grown onsite by the residents of the adjoining residential care home for adults with learning disabilities. Residents are actively involved in the café, from growing produce and preparing meals to serving customers, and they take great pride in maintaining the grounds and working throughout the park. Their work provides meaningful opportunities, purpose, and a strong sense of achievement.
The surrounding area also offers plenty to explore, including garden centers, scenic walks, and charming market towns. Rutland Water and Barnsdale Gardens are just down the road, while Belton House and Easton Walled Gardens are only a short drive away. The nearby towns of Oakham, Stamford, and Melton Mowbray are all within easy reach, along with a wide range of pubs and local cafés to ensure visitors are well catered for during their stay.
