The Historic Emerald Gem is the second-floor apartment of the Cummings-Taylor House — a lovingly preserved Victorian triplex in the heart of Wilmington's Historic District — and it feels like nowhere else you've stayed.
Fully renovated with every modern comfort, yet wearing its history proudly. Four blocks from the Riverwalk and a 10-minute stroll to the best of downtown. Come for the city. Stay for the charm.

• One bedroom features an original brick fireplace and mantle
• Both bedrooms have a dedicated desk workspace — one with a tree-level window view
• 1 full bathroom — subway tile shower/tub combo, updated vanity, makeup vanity and chair, fresh towels provided

🔏 Security Deposit: A $200 refundable security deposit is required for each reservation.
🏢 Triplex Living: The Emerald Gem is one of three apartments in a historic triplex. As with any well-loved old building, you may occasionally hear light sounds from neighboring units—it’s all part of the charm!
👤 Primary Guest: The guest who made the reservation must be present for the duration of the stay.
🚫 🎉 No Parties or Events: Because we are located in a historic residential neighborhood, we maintain a strict no-parties policy out of respect for our neighbors and the building.
🚭 No Smoking Indoors: There is no smoking indoors, please. However, the porch is all yours.
🧼 Care of the Home: The Historic Emerald Gem is professionally maintained to a standard we're genuinely proud of. To preserve the quality of our linens and finishes, please refrain from using bleach-based cleaning products during your stay—our team handles all the deep cleaning between guests.
🌿 Fragrance-Free Space: To keep the air clear and comfortable for guests with sensitivities, please leave incense, essential oil diffusers, and similar fragrance items at home.
🧴 Toiletry Checklist: We provide the essentials to get you started! For longer stays, please plan to bring along your personal toiletries to supplement.

📜 Guests are required to provide a government-issued photo ID and complete a signed rental agreement prior to check-in, as required under North Carolina law (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 42A-10). This is completed through our complimentary guest portal, which also offers optional keyless entry and check-in convenience features.
