About this cottage rental

Set in a peaceful rural location with open farmland views and scenic walks straight from the doorstep, this property offers the perfect balance of tranquillity and convenience, being less than three miles from the bustling harbour town of Oban. On-site, guests can enjoy a small children’s play area as well as The Barn, a characterful rustic pub serving local food and drinks (seasonal opening hours apply, please check in advance). After a day of exploring, it’s the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to the countryside setting, clear evenings also provide excellent opportunities for stargazing.
Often referred to as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, Oban is renowned for its outstanding seafood restaurants, fresh fish suppliers, and vibrant waterfront dining scene. Seafood lovers should make time to visit The Green Shack on the quayside for locally sourced shellfish and fresh catches. Oban is also known as the Gateway to the Isles, with ferry connections from the CalMac terminal at South Pier offering easy access to islands including Mull, Colonsay, Tiree, Lismore and Barra. A short water taxi journey from North Pier also takes visitors to the nearby island of Kerrera.

The town itself is full of charm, featuring impressive cathedrals, independent shops, cosy cafés, traditional pubs, and excellent local attractions such as Oban Distillery and the renowned Oban Chocolate Company. Visitors will also find supermarkets, leisure facilities, a cinema, golf course, swimming pool, and a variety of outdoor and water sports nearby. For those seeking a classic seaside escape, there are beautiful sandy beaches within easy reach, alongside fascinating historical attractions including Dunstaffnage Castle, Dunollie Castle and Inveraray Jail. Garden enthusiasts can also enjoy visits to Inveraray Castle and Arduaine Garden. With so much to see and do, the area offers something for visitors of all ages throughout the year.
