Exploring the Area
Nickerson State Park, Nauset Beach, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail are all a short drive away. Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters, located right on the Rail Trail, offers electric bike rentals and makes a great starting point for a morning ride. Additional nearby rental shops include Rail Trail Bike & Kayak and Brewster Cycle Center. Restaurants, coffee shops, mini-golf, and ice cream spots are just minutes away in Brewster and Orleans.
At low tide, the Brewster Flats stretch out for over a mile, revealing sandbars, tidal pools, and marine life. Nearby public bay beaches include Crosby Landing, Paine’s Creek, Ellis Landing, and Breakwater Beach. Paid parking at town beaches is $20 per day from June 15 to September 4, 9 AM to 4 PM, payable online through the Town of Brewster. Walking or biking in is free.
Local highlights include the Stony Brook Grist Mill, especially during the spring herring run, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, and the historic Brewster Store.
For day trips, Chatham is about 20 minutes south and Provincetown is about 35 minutes away, each offering great shopping, dining, and classic Cape charm. Long Pond is also nearby for kayaking and freshwater swimming.
In the evening, enjoy a Cape Cod Baseball League game with the Brewster Whitecaps or Orleans Firebirds. For another classic summer outing, visit the Wellfleet Drive-In, the Cape’s only remaining drive-in theater.
