Madina Boutique Hotel

Le personnel de l’hôtel est très gentil, ils nous ont aidé pour tout ce dont nous avions besoin. La vue sur le Nil depuis le rooftop est magnifique.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and also very clean. We received a couple of complimentary bottles of water, which was appreciated. Overall, the accommodation itself was perfectly fine and we had a comfortable stay. Breakfast was okay, although fairly basic.

The biggest issue for us was the internet, which basically did not work during our stay. The manager explained that Luxor is currently undergoing major fibre-optic infrastructure works and that their connection is affected. We had actually experienced similar internet problems at another accommodation in Luxor four days earlier, so this may indeed be a wider local issue. Nevertheless, as tourists, reliable internet at the hotel is important, and not having it was a significant inconvenience. Service was also a little inconsistent. We asked for additional Nescafé coffee for the room, but it never arrived. We were also told that someone would come to help us with the internet connection, but nobody came. Another inconvenience was payment. We were required to pay in cash rather than through Booking.com. The hotel had contacted us the day before arrival to confirm our check-in time and to offer additional services such as transfers and a hot-air balloon trip, so it would have been very helpful if they had also mentioned at that point that payment needed to be made in cash. We arrived tired and then had to find an ATM and withdraw money. Had we known beforehand, we could easily have arrived prepared. Breakfast could also be improved. The juice was very sugary and tasted artificial, and the croissant was packaged rather than fresh. Considering how affordable fresh food is in Egypt, I think a fresher and better-quality breakfast could be offered without adding much to the cost. Finally, there is no elevator, which is worth knowing if you have heavy luggage or mobility difficulties. Overall, the hotel itself is clean and perfectly adequate, but better communication and follow-through from the staff, an improved breakfast, and reliable internet once the infrastructure situation is resolved would make the experience considerably better.

Perfect location , It’s close to restaurants, coffee shops, the Nile River, and all the attractions along the Nile, including felucca rides, restaurants along the boulevard, and other tourist attractions. The hotel also helps you arrange a ride for the hot-air balloon at a very reasonable price. I would like to highlight the excellent customer service they provided. They were extremely helpful and always went the extra mile for AYA AMIN and MUHAMMED They made our stay much more enjoyable. I am very grateful to them for being so professional, kind, and attentive. El hotel goza de una ubicación privilegiada en pleno paseo marítimo, rodeado de numerosos cafés y a poca distancia a pie de restaurantes que sirven alcohol. La cama es grande y cómoda.

La dirección de este hotel no considera necesario invertir tiempo y dinero en su mantenimiento, por lo que las reparaciones que antes eran buenas se están deteriorando poco a poco. De las cuatro camas de nuestras tres habitaciones, dos estaban rotas. A pesar de que la gerente prometió arreglarlas al día siguiente de nuestra llegada, esto nunca sucedió. El wifi estuvo caído durante toda nuestra estancia. Mientras nos duchábamos, la luz se cortaba cada cinco minutos porque la caldera sobrecargaba el sistema eléctrico. Al encender la nevera, que estaba desenchufada, y separarlo de la pared, descubrimos un montón de basura, sin quitarla desde que abrió el hotel. En tres días, ni una sola vez nos ofrecieron limpiar la habitación ni cambiar las toallas. La primera mañana, el desayuno se sirvió 40 minutos más tarde de la hora acordada; los demás días, se ofrecía un lunch-box con comida seca. En general todo fue muy mediocre.
