About this house rental
It already existed in 1690: it is, in fact, depicted in a painting from that period. It was an annex to Landskron Fortress, built as a fortified house (with very thick, fortified walls on the south side and a small well that is still there).
We lived there with our four children for 18 years and loved this house above all for its magnificent view, its location in the Tannwald, its ever-changing surroundings, perfect for beautiful hikes (Mariastein, Landskron Castle, the forests…), as well as its proximity to Basel, which is easily accessible by tram, bike, or car.
To make this house accessible to everyone, we are pleased to offer it today as a guesthouse for stays of three days or a week.
To provide the best service, we work with our friends Sophie and Philippe Koenig: a true family affair. In fact, this house used to belong to their family.
We offer:
• 5 bedrooms spread over two floors (3 bedrooms for couples with double beds, and 2 bedrooms for children with twin beds),
• 3 bathrooms, one on each floor (bathtub or shower),
• 1 fully equipped kitchen (for up to 10 people),
• 1 dining room,
• 3 living rooms:
• one with an Alsatian tiled stove (Kachelofen), particularly effective in winter,
• another in the sunroom, where you can enjoy the view and share special moments with your family,
• the third on the top floor, with a balcony and an exceptional view.
You’ll also appreciate the garden, the pool, and the unobstructed view, with no neighbors directly across.
