Aboukir Hotel

When we arrived, the manager was super friendly, personally checked us in, told us a little history about the place, gave us a tour of the room, he even gave us a little rundown of Carnoustie life. All the staff were super friendly and were great people to talk to. The room itself was also pretty nice, comfy beds, and very clean. Overall, it’s a great little hotel, but definitely the absolutely exceptional part of the whole experience was the manager Pete, who is such a character, we would stay there again just to have a chat with him again, super interesting guy.

It was kind of hard to know where to check-in, it wasn’t really signposted anywhere, so we just had to wander in a bit lost, but we were able to get to the right place once we asked one of the staff members what to do, again everyone was really friendly.

The room had an amazing view out over the water. It was spacious with chairs for relaxing and the bed was huge and very comfortable, it had complimentary tea/coffee/sugar/milk also provided handwash, even had proper shampoo and conditioner. The meals we had in the restaurant downstairs were incredible the food was delicious and cooked to perfection, the portions were fantastic value for money. What really made our stay special, though, was the staff. They went above and beyond to be helpful, friendly, and attentive. If you're looking for great food, wonderful hospitality, and a cozy stay in Carnoustie, this is the place to go!
