Very comfortable and clean hotel. Helpful, professional and friendly staff throughout. Excellent breakfast. We also had a great lunch and dinner during our stay.

Looks good when you walk in but average experience.

Nice lobby and restaurant decor breakfast was good .

Rooms don’t reflect hotel downstairs dated old and worn out , Food was ok … restaurants looked high end , slow service and food wasn’t what I expected prawn starter had no Flavour very bland bit to much of a build up service charge but 20 mins before I got a drink and wasn’t that busy .

We had a lovely time and would return sometime.

Breakfast was lovely. Dinner was also really nice but could've been a slightly bigger portion - partner had the venison and dauphinoise potatoes - there wasn't very much potato! Rooms lovely and staff super nice and helpful. Lovely that the hotel is by the sea.

Please see comment above re dinner portion. Whilst he enjoyed it there wasn't enough of it. The mattresses on the bed felt quite soft and bouncy it felt like is should be more supportive but perhaps that is just my preference.

Great place, awesome staff but the restaurant lets it down, both for meals and especially breakfast.

We originally booked for two nights. Liked it and decided to stay for another two nights. Must say though we gave the hotel the option of taking our money for this but the seemed reluctant. So had to book through a third party. Seems really odd that they were happier getting less money than booking direct.

The restaurant, dined there one night and the food was not up to the standard I’d expect. Breakfast was similarly mediocre. For the price they charge I’ll go to a hungry horse or brewers fare and get the same quality for half the price. Shame really, although can’t fault the staff, they are awesome, attentive and extremely efficient and helpful. Wish other places had such great people working for them.

Would be very happy to return.

Our family of three spent two nights in a standard double. Unfortunately we just missed out on the opportunity to upgrade to a junior suite which would have had more space and the bed would have been larger than a double. However, the room was still comfortably big enough even with the zed bed that was put up for our 8 year old. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast and that we were able to order hot food from the kitchen if we wanted. The dinner was nice but under seasoned. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly and welcoming. I truly can't remember a hotel with kinder staff. I hope they are treated as well as they treat their guests.

The bar area felt a bit soulless, there was no music playing and it was a world of grey which all too often matches the Scottish weather. A bit of colour and some music would have made it feel more welcoming.

This is a fantastic hotel maintained to very high standards with very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was to a very good standard and the bar prices were realistic, considering the quality of hotel. It also has superb access to the championship golf course.

A great place to stay even if you don’t golf!

The staff were so friendly yet very efficient and professional. The leisure facilities were great and most welcome after a long drive. The food was delicious. The bed was super comfy and the room was immaculate. I cannot fault this hotel in any way.

Very slow

Beautiful room and fantastic service from the reception staff making us very welcome.

We had a family meal in the evening, it was pretty good however the service was extremely slow, drinks took a long time as did the meals and the time taken after the main to taking the desert order took an age. A couple of steaks weren't cooked to our liking and had to be sent back. The puddings also came out cold and there was a very long wait.

Breakfast was great, they take your order at the table, no buffet for hot breakfast. Room was great ,great view if golf course, spa facilities great, I had 2 hot stone massages and they were fantastic,pool was great too. Meals were lovely ,staff great cant fault it.

Beautifully located right on the shore, this golf hotel offers stunning views, a great breakfast, and exceptionally friendly, professional staff. The spa treatment was a real highlight.

The only downsides were that the rooms felt a bit dated, and ours was above the entrance, which made it noisy at times.

Perfect weekend getaway.

Facilities eg. pool, sauna, steam room, all very good. The breakfast was amazing, well cooked everything. There was a very very helpful man at reception, didn’t catch his name but was an American guy who was very nice and assisted me when I requested something. High quality customer service. Beautiful location.

Fly walking all over the meat section at the continental part of breakfast which was disgusting, so restricted me having some meat. What looked like a sweet wrapper that was left in room on arrival. Room decor slightly outdated perhaps.

The bathroom was nice and roomy. The room outlook was nice.Room was very hot and windows not able to be opened wide. N

The parking was available. Room service. Taking our drinks upstairs. Staff were pleasant. The second day our room was done much better. The bed was made at least but I still think a light vacuum would have been great.

On our first day outing we got back to our bed not made and no vacuuming. I re-read the conditions and it said provision top up only. The cleaners had emptied the bins and put a new toilet paper out. Not turned over as normal. I was furious. To pay the daily rate and get back to see our room virtually as we left it. They had put 4 milks out. Well we used those on our evening drink which left no milk whatsoever for the morning. Absolutely not good enough. The tv remote wouldn’t work at all. The receptionist came up and couldn’t get it to work and resolved to find another remote. That didn’t work much better so we turned it off and on at the wall but at least I could find a channel and alter the volume. Not great. Shower door did not stop the water escaping down the outside the bath edge. Making a pool on the floor.

Wonderful stay at Carnoustie Golf Hotel and Spa. Rooms and dining are excellent.

We upgraded to a wonderful Suite overlooking the Championship Golf Course. It had a large balcony with a great view. The room was excellent with 2 bathrooms and a lounge area. Dinner was excellent in Calders Restaurant. The food was amazing and staff were very friendly. We used the Pool and found the changing facilities to be of the highest standard.

It was all good.
