We stayed for five nights at this absolutely beautiful place, and it was everything we hoped for and more. Surrounded by rolling hills, lush greenery, and the gentle sounds of nature — sheep grazing, cows mooing — it was the perfect private getaway. One of the highlights was Bellamy, the stunning and gentle horse we were able to feed and stroke – such a joy!Our hostess, Harriet, was truly exceptional — warm, kind, and incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond to make our stay special. When we needed anything, she was right there, always with a smile. One of the most memorable moments was when she took us out on her quad bike to feed the sheep and cows, patiently answering all our questions and making us feel so welcome. It was an absolute pleasure staying at this magical location. We’ll definitely be back!

As others have said, the photos of the views really don't do this cottage justice and the description really can't express the peace. Weather wasn't great but we spent a day walking straight from the door and could have spent more time walking locally (maps and routes provided) had we not wanted to explore a little further afield. The cottage is a gorgeous old building and very private. We loved the living room and artwork within it. However, the rest of the cottage was a bit beyond 'rustic charm' and could do with a bit of time and money investing in it, something I realise is not easy when juggling the demands of upland farming.

What an absolute find this cottage was, so quiet and peaceful and a lovely place to relax and unwind, and very well equipped. It was just perfect for our dogs with its totally enclosed garden. Jennifer our host could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return for a longer stay next time

Photos on this site just DO NOT do this place justice. The views are absolutely stunning. The location is amazing. Although the cottage is only 100 feet or so from the farm you feel completely secluded. Didn't hear any farm machinery, just the occasional cow or ewe calling for their offspring. We needed somewhere quite where we could do absolutely nothing for a few days, and we couldn't have chosen a better location. If however you want to walk up hills and stuff there's plenty of that in the area and there's a handy guide in the drawer under the TV if you're so inclined. Nearest supermarket is a pleasant 20 minute drive away, or an hour and a bit if you turn right at the bottom of the road like I did! So make sure the bottle opener is in the cutlery drawer before buying in your beers/wine. No photos because we intentionally left all tech at home, but now I wish I'd taken at least a camera.

Lovely, homely cottage in a rural and remote location. Very cosy winter break in spite of the winter weather. Wildlife spotting and star gazing included!
