About this cottage rental

This charming property offers the perfect seaside base to families and groups of friends planning days of Welsh adventure together. The gateway to the Gower Peninsula, Mumbles combines a friendly village atmosphere with classic seaside fun – visit the Victorian pier for family amusements; at low tide the small beach beside it is perfect for rock pooling. Standing high on a hill and affording some of the best views out to Swansea Bay, Oystermouth Castle (less than 500 metres) makes a fabulous picnic spot. Langland Bay (1.5 miles) has beautiful sands backed by a beach hut-lined promenade; sheltered from winds, it’s a favourite for surfing and swimming, with tennis courts and a golf course also nearby. Join the Gower coastal path here and walk west passing Bracelet Bay, Limeslade, Langland & Caswell Bays. The Coast Path has a rocky shoreline and can be followed all the way too Rhossili offering unrivalled views all the way.

The property retains all its traditional charm, with bay windows and an elegant, tiled path leading to the front door. Step inside; elegant wood flooring links all the ground-floor rooms, guiding guests from the hallway into a fabulous open-plan social space that runs the full length of the building. To the front, the lounge area has a choice of inviting seating and a Smart TV; to the rear, the dining suite sits before fully-glazed doors onto the courtyard. Further along the entrance hall, there’s a step down into a modern kitchen where you’ll find everything required for effortless self-catering. Walk through and you’ll pass a handy ground-floor cloakroom en-route to your second social space – a full-of-light sunroom with French doors onto the balcony area and garden area beyond. When it’s time to sleep, a softly carpeted staircase leads from the hall to a half-landing where a contemporary family bathroom is close to the first of three bedrooms – a twin room. You’ll find two further bedrooms a few steps up – one with its own Smart TV and zip-and-link twin beds which, for flexibility, can convert to a king-size on request, and a master bedroom with a super-king-size bed and a bay window offering views towards the sea.

Doors from the dining area and sunroom give direct access to the wooden balcony and courtyard garden with locking gates at the rear of the property, where you’ll also find space to park one car.
