About this cottage rental

This charming cottage enjoys a rural setting, surrounded by open countryside and with a multitude of walking trails to explore from its front door. Sleeping four guests, the cottage makes a delightful couples’ retreat or base for a small family seeking peace and tranquillity. The property is just 1 mile from the concert hall at Snape Maltings, and the popular seaside resorts of Aldeburgh (9 miles) and Southwold (22 miles) make lovely day trips. After a day of exploring, unwind in your peaceful cottage garden or snuggle up by the cosy wood burner.

The holiday home has a country-cottage style, with decor and furniture to complement the property’s original features. The ground floor houses an attractive kitchen with everything needed for a self-catering getaway, as well as a beautiful dining room and cosy lounge with a roaring wood burner. The two pretty bedrooms are upstairs (accessed via their own cottage-style staircases), both with en-suite facilities. Outside, relax in the cottage garden, which has a large lawned area, as well as a sunny patio and BBQ for outdoor dining.

You’ll find plenty to see and do at Snape Maltings. As well as hosting music events throughout the year, the complex is also home to a collection of high-end boutiques and galleries, along with some exceptional restaurants. The area surrounding Snape Maltings is a paradise for walkers, and you can also take boat trips from the quayside. Heading to the coast, you’ll soon reach Aldeburgh with its pebble and shingle beach, long promenade, pastel-coloured houses, popular fish and chip shops, and seafood restaurants – it’s the perfect place for a traditional day at the seaside.

- Electric cooker with 2 ovens, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer and dishwasher
- Wood burner – with logs included (wood store in the garden)
- TV with Freeview, DVD player, iPod dock and radio
- Landline for emergencies and incoming calls only
- Please bring your own beach towels
- Please note, dogs must be kept on a lead in the garden as some areas are not dog proof. There are taps and hoses outside for washing down muddy dogs (please bring your own towels)
- Please restrict your dog to only the brick-floored rooms in the house – hall, kitchen and ground-floor cloakroom
- Garden with lawn and patio with garden furniture, BBQ, shed for bike storage and log store with access to logs
- Private parking for several cars
- Shop and pub 3 miles
- Please note, due to the age of the property, some doors have restricted head height
- Bedrooms have interconnecting doors but can also be accessed by two separate staircases – these are quite steep and narrow so care should be taken
- Please note that beyond the garden there is an electric fence to the fields where livestock are grazing
