About this house rental
Welcome to ECHO LAKE RETREAT—just 2.5 hours north of Toronto. This beautifully updated, four-season A-frame cottage is nestled on the shores of Echo Lake and comfortably accommodates up to eight guests, making it perfect for extended families or groups seeking relaxation and outdoor adventure. With 120 feet of private lakefront, peaceful wooded surroundings, and easy access to nearby towns like Bracebridge, Huntsville, Dorset, and Dwight, this is the perfect home base for your next cottage escape.
The main cottage features five well-appointed bedrooms: two with king beds, two with queen beds, and one with two single beds—ideal for kids or friends. There are two full bathrooms and two inviting living areas, giving everyone space to gather or enjoy quiet moments. Linens, pillows, blankets, and towels are all included for your convenience. The fully equipped kitchen is a chef’s delight, with an induction stove, oven, full-sized fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, drip coffee machine (cone size 4 filter), blender, stand-up mixer, and a 5-gallon water cooler. Guests will enjoy Wi-Fi and two Smart TVs with streaming capabilities, along with a DVD player, a game console, and a great selection of board games, cards, and books. Whether you’re curled up by the gas fireplace or enjoying movie night with the family, there’s no shortage of cozy comforts. Heating is provided by a central furnace and space heaters, and while there is no air-conditioning, one ceiling fan and four portable fans keep air circulating comfortably throughout the cottage.
Step outside onto the expansive deck overlooking serene Echo Lake, complete with a patio dining set, propane BBQ, sun loungers, and a hammock for lazy afternoons. Down at the water’s edge, you’ll find a private dock with a depth of 6 feet—perfect for swimming or launching one of the two kayaks or the canoe provided. Guests can also enjoy a lily pad float and a selection of adult lifejackets. The shoreline has a charming, rustic character, and the calm bay makes it easy to paddle and swim all day long. A public boat launch is available on the lake, though there is no marina, offering a more peaceful and private experience on the water.
In the evenings, gather around the outdoor fire pit for s’mores and stargazing, or relax inside with a movie or a game night. For longer stays, complimentary use of the washer and dryer is included (please bring your own detergent). Cell service is available in some areas of the property, and the water source is clean, fresh, and potable.
Whether you're kayaking across Echo Lake, reading on the deck, or enjoying time by the fire, this welcoming cottage offers the perfect balance of comfort, nature, and relaxation. Your unforgettable Muskoka vacation awaits—see you there!
