The Space:
Welcome to Canny Hyem — Geordie for ‘Lovely Home’
Whether you're visiting family, working nearby, or exploring the North East, Canny Hyem is a clean, comfortable two-bedroom home near Chester-le-Street with everything you need for a relaxed stay. With regular buses to Newcastle and Durham just a few minutes’ walk away, it’s a great base for contractors, solo travellers, couples, and small families.
The famous Beamish Museum is just a 15-minute drive away, and the Angel of the North is also close by — perfect for days out without going far.
🛏 Bedrooms
Both bedrooms feature hotel-style zip-link beds for flexible sleeping arrangements.
Bedroom 1 has a super king bed (can be split into two singles).
Bedroom 2 has two small singles (bunk-bed size), which can be joined to make a king.
Beds are made in the Scandinavian style (individual duvets for each guest), and towels and bed linen are provided. Unless you request otherwise, the default setup is a super king in bedroom 1 and two singles in bedroom 2.
There is also includes a desk, full-length mirror, hairdryer, and space to hang clothes.
🍽 Kitchen
Well equipped with everything you need: oven, gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, air fryer, washing machine, and all basic cookware.
Tea and coffee are provided.
🛋 Living Room
Comfortable leather sofas, a 42" smart TV (guests can use their own streaming accounts), and a fold-away dining table that seats four.
🌿 Garden
The private, fully enclosed garden has a 6ft fence, a grassed area, and a patio with table and chairs. It catches the sun and is perfect for a morning coffee, an evening drink, or letting the dog stretch its legs. Pets are welcome — just please clean up after them.
