About this cottage rental
Our spacious cottages enjoy a privileged location on the sunny west coast of the island. Each cottage has its own private terrace and BBQ deck. The panoramic views are spectacular! All the windows and glass doors are double glazed with comfort in mind. There is a stunning swimming pool area landscaped into the fully enclosed shared garden. No better place could be found for those days when doing very little but relaxing and sunbathing is what you are after. If you need to check in on the real world you can do so by scrolling through any of the news channels included in the TV programme menu or by connecting to our wireless broadband internet facilities. Within walking distance there is a mini market, a cafe, pharmacy and health centre. And if walking is what you enjoy then this area offers some of the finest lavada walking on Madeira!
Rosemary cottage is the smaller of our two newly built cottages and is perfect for your island holiday! The living area with its vaulted ceiling comprises a well equipped open plan kitchen and comfortable dining area. There is a wonderful flow between this and the glass fronted, comfortably furnished lounge area which opens onto a private terrace; ideal for alfresco dining. And for those occasional chilly days or evenings there is a cosy wood burning stove fireplace central to the living area. The spacious bedroom is well equipped and is fitted with an overhead fan for those still sultry nights. The sliding glass doors that lead out to the garden can be shuttered in the traditional way for extra privacy or for those sensible afternoon siestas. There is a stunning swimming pool area landscaped into the fully enclosed garden. No better place could be found for those days when doing very little but relaxing and enjoying some secluded sunbathing is what you are after.

Prior to us going away, Heather forwarded us directions to the apartment which was very informative and also had photos of signage to look out for which was very helpful. Upon arrival Heather was there to greet us with a warm welcome and a nice gift bag of some groceries to get us started including some wine. She was very helpful with places to visit and where to eat as she has spent several years on the Island, so she knows her onions!! The bungalow we stayed in was ideal with a terrific view, we had all we needed, even a wood burner which came in handy as the weather was changeable and in the evenings it did get a bit cool. The bungalow apartments are up a very steep hill, but the most of the hills on the Island are very steep, and there’s many, an experience to be hold in a Fiat Punto. Plenty of room in the smaller bungalow which we had for two and well equipped, even had use of the underground garage to park our car. We would definitely recommend Banda do Sol to stay, very relaxing with a nice and helpful host. The pool area is ideal to chill and relax when the sun is out, sadly it was a bit to cool to try the pool but the children staying next door had plenty of fun the the cold water. Die Wirtin Heather ist sehr nett und berät einen gerne mit guten Tips wie wann und wo etwas gut ist, der tip zum lokalen supermarket mit Mittagstisch war super. Das apartment hatte die erwartet gute Qualität wir waren super zufrieden. Alles hat bei der Übernahme und Abgabe problemlos geklappt. Wir können dieses Apartment nur weiter empfehlen.

If you are looking for a perfect place to relax and chill out away from it all then this is the place. We stayed here for 10 days and it way just what we were looking for, out of the way but close enough to the be able to get out and about. The Cottage was 5*, every thing you need to self-cater, if something you needed was not there Heather would go out of her way to get it for you. We arrived quite later at 9pm and Heather had gone out of her way to do a starter shop and even prepare a chicken salad for us, there was also a welcome bag which was a really lovely touch. These little thing are what made the stay perfect and outstanding. The location offers breathtaking views over looking the sea, with its own terrace for eating and relaxing, having breakfast in the warm sun with a light breeze looking out over the view was just fantastic. Don't take my word for it come and experience it for your self, you will not be disappointed. My final point is its value for money, you are paying 3* price for 5* accommodation. We have just returned from our second three week visit to this idyillic cottage with its kind, thoughtful and attentive owners ready at hand with helpful advice. The new addition of a glazed patio extension (on both properties) enabled us to maximise the Spring sunshine and the all round superb coastal views. The property gives easy access to delightful locations such as Jardim do Mar and Rabacal but equally is a good base in a quiet area giving ready access to all areas of the island. We have already booked again for a third visit to enjoy the varied island scenery and walks.
