About this villa rental
This beautiful modern well appointed villa is surrounded by fantastic panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean. Spectacular mountain views including the famous plateau complete the majestic scenery. The location is ideal for walkers, nature lovers and those that crave a little peace and quiet among a rural setting.
Breathtaking ocean views from the bedroom balconies add - a top of the world feeling. Two large bedrooms: one twin, one double each with a large private bathroom and patio doors open onto a large balcony with easy to use awing and beautiful views to the sea and a well maintained lawn and garden below.
Downstairs a fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons including the little things offers patio doors opening onto a spacious terrace complete with stone BBQ. The large living area opens onto the same terrace through airy patio doors. A down stairs WC and a small laundry complete the lower floor. Steps lead from the terrace area down to the garden, at the end of the garden is a beautiful spot: a tiled viewing area under the canopy of an avocado tree offers more sea views; delightful for breakfast.
Villa Murphy is surrounded by the wonderful natural nature that Madeira has to offer. The west of the Isle is the sunniest spot and boasts numerous swimming locations. The famous lava rock pools of Porto Moniz are only a 25 min drive away.
The surrounding local restaurants offer a wonderful selection of typical Madeiran fare. A large fully stocked supermarket in Calheta only a 5 minute drive away has everything you need while the small local shop has a good selection too, with fresh bread delivered daily.
The local people are very friendly and you will realise the difference from rural Madeira compared to the city, although only a 35 min drive away.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay! The views were amazing. Sarah and Ciaran were great and very helpful. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. I would be recommend this property to everyone to stay here. Thank you for everything thing you did for us. Ilda and Carlos

We absolutely loved our stay here. Every morning we went out onto the balcony and looked out over the ocean and, in the evening, watched the sun set. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans and dishes, and there is a large fridge. The bed was very comfortable - not too hard or too soft - and we slept well every night. Not only did we eat on the balcony, but also used the patio at the bottom of the garden - again with beautiful views over the water. More than anything else, we couldn't get over how quiet the house and area are. Periodically, a rooster would crow, but there was no traffic noise or rowdy neighbours; it was just plain quiet. There is a friendly, local cafe across the street where food and drinks are very inexpensive (scabbard fish on a bun - 5 Euros; a small Coral beer - 1.20 Euros; freshly squeezed orange juice - 2.40 Euros, to give you an idea). We loved it so much, my wife and I are seriously thinking of coming back to Madeira and spending a couple of weeks (or more) just to enjoy the sun and scenery - and we would definitely come back to this rental property.

Our checking at a late hour was completely managed by Sarah which was a very pleasant start for our stay. The house is located in a calm neighborhood and is fully equipped. We lack of nothing from outdoor furnitures to spices to cook. Sarah is very thoughtful regarding her guests as she is always reachable by phone for quick tips about where to eat or where to hike. It was a pleasure to stay there, explore the area and meeting her and her husband Ciaran.

This villa was just as described. Sarah was helpful and always available if we needed her. The village location was perfect for us and gave us easy access to the levadas. We are two couples in our 60s who enjoy walking and being away from the tourist areas. The village was beautiful - flowers amazing - locals friendly - the bar/ shop just over the road was perfect for fresh bread and daily shopping. We really enjoyed our week here and would recommend this to anyone who like to be away from the main tourism areas and in a friendly village atmosphere.
