Beautiful house. Lovely location. Perfect for a romantic weekend away. Good communication
Nothing! Being ultra picky, additional towels, and a cheese grater 🤣

We had a really enjoyable stay here and found it to be an excellent base for exploring Matlock and the surrounding area. The location is ideal, with the town centre only a short walk away, making it easy to access the shops, cafés, restaurants and local attractions without needing to use the car. The hosts have made excellent use of the available space. I imagine the building may originally have been a barn, and it has been thoughtfully converted into a comfortable and welcoming place to stay whilst still retaining plenty of character. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our visit. Communication with the hosts was outstanding from start to finish. When we mentioned that the apartment became very warm and that we could hear the hourly church bells from the nearby church, they promptly provided a fan and some ear plugs. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and their willingness to help really enhanced our stay. Having read some of the previous reviews, I can understand why a few guests have mentioned things such as wanting a three-seater sofa instead of a two- and one or the lack of a microwave. However, in all honesty, I don't consider these to be deal breakers. When reviewing short-term holiday accommodation, I think it's important to judge it for what it is rather than comparing it to everything we have at home. None of these points had any real impact on our enjoyment of the stay
The only minor drawback for us was the hourly chiming of the nearby church bells which goes on throughout the night which is totally out of the hosts control. When i did mention this to the hosts they dealt with this immediately by providing ear plugs, which was greatly appreciated.

- Very cute barn renovation which was clean and had all essentials needed. - Sourdough bread, milk, and butter provided at the beginning of our stay which was a nice touch. - Very comfy bed - Decent amount of kitchen utensils - Lovely location close to train station and town centre - Very helpful host providing a guide on local amenities and information on the property and how to access it. Host checked we had settled in okay and let us know he was available if anything was needed.
- Sofa was slightly small for two people but comfortable. - A few cobwebs in the bathroom but otherwise perfectly clean! - The kitchen could benefit from a microwave but there is an air fryer and hob so still plenty of options to make food! - To no fault of the host, the church bells do ring all night near the property, this is manageable if the bedroom window is closed during the night.

Quiet, private and a good location. I liked it and would return with a few improvements. Good collection of utensils and cutlery and a welcoming collection of essential, tea coffee etc
No oven, microwave or air fryer. Nowhere to put soap etc in the shower. No “normal” tv, just apps, bring all you account logins. No handrail on the steep stairs. Sofa a bit small. A few cobwebs and an actual spider living on the radiator next to the bed. Hole in floor next to bed. Communications with owner were poor.
