Eiffel Tower - Prestigious 2BR - Terrace

Outstanding and secure location just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower, surrounded by great corner bistros. The apartment is remarkably spacious and well-equipped with a massive TV, large fridge, and a charming balcony with wonderful views. Note that the cooling relies on a portable AC unit whose exhaust hose prevents the window from closing fully, making temperature control a bit inefficient during hotter days.

Host Communication & Parking Failure: Two months prior to our stay, the host confirmed via Booking messages that an on-site parking space was reserved for us at €40/night. On arrival day—after a 6-hour drive in 35°C heat with four adults and a toddler—I messaged to confirm access, only for the host to claim nothing was booked. Despite sending screenshots of his prior confirmation, he claimed no on-site spots were left, became dismissive, and stopped responding, eventually sending a list of public garages (a 10-minute walk away in the heat with all our luggage), and no sympathy shown or an apology for any misunderstanding. ​Unacceptable 4-Hour Check-in Delay: The listing specifies check-in from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. I gave 3 hours' advance notice for our 4:00 PM arrival, despite only being requested to give 30 mins notice, only to be told the apartment wouldn’t be ready until 8:00 PM. Again, no apologies, nothing (Bearing in mind the booking confirmation was accepted for 5pm on the app) Paying a premium rate and being forced to kill 4 hours in a heatwave with an exhausted, cranky toddler and a car packed with luggage is unacceptable. At 8:00 PM, the host didn't even show up—he sent the cleaner instead (who was lovely, but not the host). ​The Apartment: While spacious, it does not live up to its "luxury" description: ​Noise & Maintenance: The floors creak so loudly that they woke our toddler with every step, and the door handles are old, loose, and noisy. This is easily replaced and improved. ​Travel Cot: The requested travel cot lacked a proper mattress, forcing us to fold multiple duvets over the metal base so our child wouldn't sleep on bare metal rods. ​Bizarre Bathroom Layout: Accessible from two bedrooms and the hallway, with a tiny shower facing a larger bath next to a giant wall mirror that leaves little to no visual privacy from the beds.
