Gio Private Villa - Langkawi

We stayed at Gio’s Villa for 10 days in August and really enjoyed our time there, because we are easy not too picky guests. The house (around 15 Minutes away from Langkawi airport and 30 minutes from the ferry) has the charm of a traditional old Malay house from timber and sits in a peaceful location, surrounded by rice fields with a little view towards the hills. The place has a nice garden. Our room had its own terrace, which was a lovely place to sit (would be even better, if there was a simple fan) and enjoy the quiet. The bathroom normally is to be shared with guests from another room. During our stay, we had it completely to ourselves because there were no other guests. Part of the bathroom is covered, while the tropical shower is outdoors. Taking a shower under the open sky is especially memorable when a proper tropical rainstorm comes down. Gio, the host is exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming. Guests are free to use his whole kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, water heater washing machine, BBQ etc. which makes the place feel very relaxed and homely. Gio also has many tips and recommendations for exploring Langkawi and is always happy to help. There is a big supermarket (Billionaire) about 1,5 km away, if you like to cook for yourself. For a stay at Gios Villa we strongly recommend renting a scooter. Gio will tell you where. The villa is in a wonderfully quiet rural location, so there is only little within walking distance, especially with Langkawi’s heat and humidity you dont wanna walk. Without a scooter, you would need to rely on (Grab-) taxis for all trips. For us, the combination of the traditional house, peaceful rice field setting, outdoor shower and genuinely friendly host made Gio’s Villa a special place to stay on Langkawi. Be aware to bring your own WiFi. The place does not have. Gio next to the villa, has a whole brandnew build house for families and soon still in August a backpacker place will be ready.

We brought our own WiFi, because we were work-travelling, so we did not miss it, But we think in the year 2026 free WiFi is a clear "must have" for each guest house or hotel, that wants to accommodate guests. Everything else is not up to date!

The host GIO was one of the kindest people. He gave us suggestions of places to visit. And the villa itself is magnificent. Beautiful architecture. Really enjoyed it.. loved it would love to be back

خططت هذه الرحلة في آخر لحظة عندما كنت في تايلاند لأني أردت أن أستكشف دولة ثانية وثقافة أخرى. هذه الجزيرة لانكاوي هي قريبة من تايلاند فحجزت يومين من رحلتي هناك. بحثت عن فنادق بأسعار مناسبة في موقع ممتاز في الجزيرة ووجدت هذا… بيت الضيافة للجيو. صحيح الموقعه رائع… بين المزارع والأرياف … وفي نفس الوقت يقع قرب الطرق الرئيسية والشواطئ والمطار والميناء. الغرفة كانت نظيفة ونفس الشيء للحمام المشترك. لكن من وجهة نظري، أفضل أمر كان هو صاحب البيت.. جيو.. لأنه كان مرحب بنا منذ البداية وساعدنا في كل شيء. شكراً على خدماتك وسكنك 🙏 استمتعنا كثيراً

Bardzo przestronny obiekt. Można wygodnie posiedzieć w części wspólnej. Jest kuchnia, duży stół. Przyjazny właściciel, który pomaga rozwiązać każdy problem. Wspaniała atmosfera podczas wieczornych spotkań. Znajomi gospodarza bardzo mili. Przyrządzona ryba była wyśmienita. Do domu kupię trawę cytrynową.
