Sara a Genova BnB

Sara was an exceptionally kind, generous and accommodating host. We really enjoyed staying in her apartment, which had everything we could possibly have needed, even though we mainly used it as a place to sleep. It’s clear that Sara takes guests’ feedback seriously: for example, earplugs had been provided in response to a previous review. We didn’t actually need them, as we found the apartment surprisingly quiet at night. Although there is no air conditioning, which seems fairly common in older Genova buildings, the powerful fans kept us very comfortable, even during a heatwave. The mattresses were also extremely comfortable. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with a distinctive, artistic character. My favourite detail was the mirror creatively adapted from an antique wardrobe. I’ll address the immediate surroundings separately, but in practical terms the location was extremely convenient: very close to the railway station, the historic centre and the aquarium.

I hadn’t done any prior research into the safety of the neighbourhood, so I wasn’t aware of what to expect. Although the location is extremely convenient and the building can be reached quickly from the main square by staying on the main road, I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable walking around the area at night, either alone or as part of a group of women. I would advise guests to exercise caution at night.

Casa molto accogliente, pulitissima e si vede che la proprietà ci tiene ai particolari. Arredata con stile. Unico difetto i cuscini sostengono poco. La proprietaria estremamente gentile, un paio di giorni prima ha inviato tutte le informazioni per arrivare all'appartamento nel migliore dei modi, si è preoccupata che fossimo arrivati (visto l'arrivo in tarda serata) e che andasse tutto bene. Inoltre, ci ha permesso di lasciare i bagagli oltre l'orario del check out visto che la casa il giorno seguente sarebbe stata libera. La consiglierei e ci ritornerei volentieri. Molto vicina alla zona acquario.

Die Wohnung selber ist schön; zwei Schlafzimmer, gutes Bad, kleines Wohnzimmer und praktische und gut ausgestattete Küche. Alles sehr sauber; da kann man schon ein paar Tage verbringen. Die Lage nahe am Hafen und nah zur Altstadt ist genial. Der Kontakt mit Sara hat gut funktioniert.

Google Maps kennt die Adresse *nicht*. Die Wohnung ist direkt in einer Gasse hinter dem Piazza dello Statuto; die Nummer 30 befindet sich zwischen 72 und 76, sehr verwirrend. Auch beim Finden des Wohnungsschlüssels haben wir einen Fehler gemacht. Letztendlich richtet man sich am besten nach Saras Wegweisung und Erklärungen, die sind korrekt und führen zum Ziel. Die Gassen in der Gegend sind etwas eng und verwinkelt (Geschmackssache).
