Region: A E Housman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Town: Chirbury is a village in west Shropshire, England situated in the Vale of Montgomery, close to the Wales–England border. In the village is a village hall, a large public house called The Herbert Arms, and a post office, which is also the village shop. Montgomery is a short drive away and is popular with tourists. The town has a delightful selection of individual shops and a variety of pubs and restaurants, including the Michelin star restaurant, The Checkers, a fabulous way to make your holiday truly special. A few miles to the south is the historic market town of Bishop's Castle, an excellent place for a day or night out with its excellent pubs, live music and festivals throughout the year. A charming destination for a holiday.
