Excellent power shower, and appreciated that flannels were provided as well as towels. Excellent pre-stay communications as well.
Two minor things - firstly, it would have been nice to meet one of the owners, at some point - collecting from and leaving key in lock-box meant the personal touch was lacking; secondly, found that the chrome cover to the shower drain was not attached, so a small repair is needed (would have mentioned this if we had met).

The location was wonderful for walking trails and is a 7 minute drive from Castle Bishop. The property was very clean and well maintained. The little food basket which was left in our room was a lovely touch and helpful when you have traveled far. The bed was cosy and comfortable, the duvet did have a mind of its own and made its way out of the cover each night but the room was lovely and warm. Everything in the room was perfect for a self catering stay. Our hosts were very gracious. Check in and out was very smooth and easy. We will definitely come back again.
There wasn’t anything that we did not like.

Lovely and peaceful.
Very pleasant owners.
Would recommend to friends
The local pub was expensive and food cold when served.
Could have done with some Bread and Jam

Excellent scenic location
Peaceful area
Lovely little self contained room with private bathroom
Lovely touch to have a carton of long life milk, pot noodles, porridge, packet soups, etc on a tray as complimentary.
Great to have a standard size fridge in the room.
No hob just microwave but that was perfectly fine for our type of stay.
Nothing we disliked
Pillows supplied didn’t quite give us the comfort we needed for good head and neck support but that is possibly a personal preference.

Excellent location for the wedding we were attending, beautiful village
Breakfast and snack hamper much appreciated
Lovely quiet location
Bedding could have been better quality, found the material a little hard
Could have done with extra pillows, but didn’t affect our sleep

Perfect location for a restful short break with my dog. Breathtaking local walks and the use of the property's beautiful garden with a friendly welcome from Rita and Duncan.
Super shower
I took an outside stove as there are no cooking facilities as stated in the property .

Accommodation was perfect for our weekend. Clean & comfortable, firm bed, adequate kitchen facilities, excellent shower & great location. Would happily use again for a longer holiday.
If I have to find fault it would only be the floor is a bit rough underfoot but that is easily sorted if you pack a pair of slippers.

Great tidy property dog friendly & parking
Not much not to like it’s personal preference the bed was too hard and looking at the information we thought there was a garden and benches to sit on but a private garden that the owners allowed you to use, we did not want to invade their privacy right next to the house.

Spacious accommodation, comfortable bed, lots of hot water. The welcome pack was much appreciated, happy to provide oat milk. Good local pub in walking distance.

+ Very comfortable and convenient for my plans.
+ Noodles and cereal were welcome.
- The comforter fabric was slippery and shifted around during the night.

Lovely location. Pleasant village with church. Good power shower.
Plenty of parking.
Very cold on arrival, given it was March, no heating had been put on and took ages to warm up once heating was on. Given stone flooring too.Not very welcoming. Old mugs and stained. Most of the crockery was old and not clean. I washed everything prior to use. Microwave only available for cooking + toaster & kettle. In a cramped space, next to bathroom. Could do with updating.

The location was great for access to other places, there is also a shop and a pub in the village which were convenient. The room was completely as described and photographed so no surprises. The shower was excellent - really invigorating. The little welcome bundle of porridge and pot noodles was nice, if not needed.
Only critique was it would have been nice to have an electric hob/oven - however, knowing what we had and the space available, that helped us to plan accordingly.

The shower was soo good! Perfect for me and the dog on a walking holiday! The price was great and everything we needed. Found a good trail to bishops castle in the morning too and back which was nice

The location was good, in a quiet village, but with the facilities of a village shop and a pub within walking distance. Lovely dog walks from the door. Bishops Castle is a few minutes away by car, and lovely Church Stretton and the Long Mynd are approx 15 minutes away by car.
This is functional accommodation, providing the basics for an overnight stay. Neighbouring apartments are very close and it could be disconcerting to have other people so close to your room that they can see in through the window and door.
I found the mattress to be very hard - and I like a firm mattress! - and it is only a queen size bed.

Great accommodation for a couple, in a small village, very clean and comfortable 👌 The local Powis Arms made it for us though, the locals were so friendly and welcoming 🙏

Very good location, lovely village. Ideal for dog walking, beautiful countryside and thoughtful hosts
Everything was ideal but we found the bed very hard. Do appreciate it is each to their own and some people would like to have a firm mattress

Pet friendly and quiet.
It was nice to have the essentials provided when we first arrived.
Not keen on the pressed concrete floor.

Duncan was very welcoming, quiet location, recycling facilities, a good base for visiting the area or for walking in the locality. Great pub near by serving an excellent Sunday lunch.

Great value and a great shower. Good location for exploring the Shropshire Hills. Good pub close by. Clean.
Bed was very uncomfortable. Too hard and you could feel every spring. Fridge was running constantly, so noise a problem unless you wear earplugs for sleeping. Decor and furniture dated (but only a minor point).

The apartment is situated in a very peaceful setting, away from the main property. I could park my vehicle right out side the door, making the removal & loading of my luggage a breeze. The proprietor can’t do enough to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. My wife and I, highly recommend The Old Vicarage as a base to use for your exploration of Shropshire’s delights
The things I didn’t like was the fact we had to leave early, and we live so far away.

A great location for exploring Shropshire and over the border into Wales. Enjoyed visiting Shrewsbury, Montgomery and Ludlow and a short drive to Powis Castle, Powys, which is so beautifully maintained. Pet friendly accommodation, pub down the road and lovely countryside for walks and/or cycling. Lovely hosts.

It was very clean & comfortable. Facilities for doing my own breakfast & drinks, tv , hair dryer etc, good shower. Host was around, very helpful if any questions, parking & WiFi available
For 2 people the bed would be a little on the small size but fine for me as I was on my own

Perfect relaxing break in a quiet village. The host was extremely friendly and was able to recommend walking routes and provide directions to local pub and the village shop. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was great to have a welcome pack including some breakfast supplies.
Nothing.
4.0 / 10.0
The location was lovely (and so quiet). The bathroom and shower were excellent and we appreciated the welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and breakfast items.
We were disappointed at how cramped the apartment was and the bed was very small for a double bed. The kitchen was very small, with no grill or rings so all we could cook with was a microwave. There was no table to eat off so we had to resort to eating off laps or using a dressing table, or very small side table. We chose this location as the apartment was dog friendly but with so little space in the apartment, it was very cramped with a dog.
