Dartmoor is a National Park offering a beautiful and varied landscape with many attractions including mountain biking, zip-wires and pony trekking as well as a number of National Trust houses and gardens and is located within 5 miles.
The beautiful South Devon coastline can be easily accessed and stretches to the border with Cornwall and the Jurassic Coast of Lyme Regis and provides stunning beaches offering miles of golden sands as well as secluded coves. At Bigbury On Sea there is even the opportunity to ride the famous sea tractor which connects the mainland to Burgh Island home of the famous Burgh Island Hotel as featured in Agatha Christie's novels.
The nearby towns of Totnes, Dartmouth, Torquay and Salcombe offer a range of shopping and leisure facilities as well as boat trips along the River Dart and coast.
At nearby Staverton it's possible to board the Dart Valley steam train which connects to Torquay and Dartmouth and delights passengers of all ages as it passes through breathtaking scenery.
There are a wide range of pubs and restaurants located nearby offering food at all price points from a quick snack to a gourmet meal and shouldn't be missed.
A number of towns in the region have weekly livestock and panier markets with those situated in Newton Abbot and Tavistock being of particular note. One of the nearest towns, Ashburton, has a range of antique shops, cafes and a pub reputed to be one of the oldest in the country.
