I enjoyed staying in Staten Hotel . It was nice cozy and feel like home away from home. Great value for money. Neat clean well maintained. The classic theme of the hotel property was preserved with time. Hotel reception lady was very helpful to explain things and also very kind to adjust the days due to my last minute office work change. Breakfast was very good. Lots of veriety in breakfast. Internet was easy to connect and speed was good. There are restaurents just stone throw distance from the hotel. There are tram and bus stops near by that I used to attend my conference. Very much recomended.

Charming, small traditional Dutch hotel.

This is an excellent traditional and beautifully cared for small Dutch hotel. Exceptional and sumptuous buffet breakfast included in the price.

There was nothing I didn't like but the stairs need time to climb if you have bad knees.

The breakfast was very good and had many options. The room was always cleaned and in a good location. The lady working at the hotel was very efficient.

Don’t take big luggage with you

Family style, in a good neighborhood, you can live the local style, not a tourist area.

The stairs are narrow and deep, you have to carry luggage climb stairs, it’s challenging for large or heavy luggage, no help be provided. No shampoo provided.

Great location that was quiet and safe.

There was plenty of selection of the buffet breakfast which help start the day well. From 7 in the morning, it was perfect time to get me ready for work. Lots of space and even option for outside terrace (but it was raining so never got a chance).

Breakfast was a generous portion, and the room was okay. The bed was comfortable.

The shower sink was clogged, so it took ages for the water to drain.

Old School Charm

The Staten Hotel has a charm that you only get in places which have been run by the same people for many years. They bring to it the extra quirks and pride of service which bigger chains can't make up for despite dedicated staff and lifts, bathrobes etc. The breakfast each day was full of variety and each night's sleep was peaceful.

If you're a light sleeper and prefer to have the window open during the night (& you get a rear room) the seagulls may wake you in August as they're young are noisy but not something the hotel can control.

Location is perfect just a short 30 min walk from the station. The walk past the channels to the hotel is very beautiful. From the hotel it’s just a 20 min walk to the beach. And Museums and nice restaurants are within a 10 min walk.

Location, breakfast is very good

The lady’s attitude. Terrible customer service, if you’re used to helpful staff, do not bother coming here. Feeling like you’re bothering them. I paid for my stay - so I except to be treated with respect.Very bad attitude, especially with the condescending tone. This hotel is not suitable for disabled people, there is no elevator. It’s not specified. Room does not have any sound proofing. No kettle in the room even tho I asked and it should be there. The door’s lock is terrible better to not lock it at all instead of risking locking yourself inside.

Good enough for a short stay

Breakfast was good if you arrived early. The tastiest things ended soon and were not replaced. Tablecloth had the same stains for all three days. Otherwise it was as expected, good enough for a short stay.

No 'don't disturb' sign. After checking at 10AM while we were still in the room, the cleaners did not return even though we left in 10 minutes. They did not clean also on the following day.

Decent price, nice area

Nice area, not too far from the center. Clear and decent hotel. There was a shower and sink in the room, which was nice.

The shower had only cold water. Narrow stairs if you have large luggage.

Excellent value considering its price

I enjoyed my stay at this property. The staff was helpful and answered all my questions kindly. Despite booking a small single room, I was pleasantly surprised to have my own private shower and toilet. The mattress was highly comfortable and everything was clean. Additionally, the breakfast was excellent. I found it convenient that I could leave my backpack until 6 pm.

For someone else, the room may be considered small, but it was adequate for me.

Nice location and good experience with the Hague

Very good location that you can reach Kunstmuseum by feet and also easily get to seaside, around the hotel is an area that you will experience a wonderful life by visiting shopping stores, restaurants and bars, and they have very friendly personal by reception!

The room was tidy and clean, and the hotel has some local vibe

I visited Den Haag to attend my friends’ wedding. We were a group of people staying at different places, so I had to align with my friend to sign a postcard for newly weds. I got very stressed with the reaction of the receptionist when my friend came to my room to sign it. She did not allow him to stay even for 5 minutes, called the room every 30 seconds, was very aggressive to us and demanded both of us to leave immediately. It was 6pm, so not a night visit or anything. “My hotel - my rules”, - she said. I mean, maybe if it was written in the rules that visitors are a complete “no go”, I would understand such behavior (and decide not to stay in this hotel most probably), but just inventing something on the spot and threatening people who paid for their stay already - that’s unacceptable. Not coming back, ever

A cozy place with a great breakfast

A cozy family hotel in a very beautiful neighborhood. I originally booked a room with a shared bathroom so I was pleasantly surprised that I got a room with a tiny bathroom in it. Free toiletries were included. Everything was clean and the breakfast was really nice with a lot to choose from. Reasonable price.

My bed was way too soft and not comfortable. A cleaning lady brought towels to my room about half an hour after my arrival, just when I was changing my clothes. Quite an embarrassing moment for both of us to be honest :D The lady at the reception was urging me to check out while I still had one more night to stay. It freaked me out a little but it turned out she probably confused me with another guest.
