Atol Villas

The villas were quite hard to find at first, they are tucked down a back road behind the lazy llama. Once we located it however, it was a lovely little spot. Very quiet and isolated away from noise, the villas themselves had really great sound proofing we barely heard anyone else, and the location overall was great as it was in the middle of the two best areas for food/shopping/drinking. The villa itself was stunning, exactly as pictured. We were in the first villa on the right, I’m unsure if the villas on the left hand side would get more sun as we found by around 1/2pm we had to move from the beds to the chairs if we wanted any longer tanning which isn’t ideal as they were pretty uncomfortable! The kitchen was fully functional and equipped with everything you would need however we didn’t use it ourselves. This place also comes with a full length mirror which I feel is very hard to find at times in Bali! We also rented a moped from the villa for a really good price and even kept it for the week when we moved to a new villa which was great.

Whilst the villa is absolutely stunning there are some functionality issues. There is a massive lack of storage or wardrobe space. We are moving back home from Australia and had a lot of suitcases which we struggled to find room for, understandable but then with an added complete lack of wardrobe space. The TV is mounted into where the clothes are supposed to hang which makes no sense to me, and there was no drawers which for us staying for 2 whole weeks was an issue when we wanted to unpack. I ended up having to use the sofa as a make shift wardrobe. The shower was not great either, the stones on the floor were in awkward places so it wasn’t comfortable to stand. The water pressure was quite bad and hard to avoid on non hair wash days but also not strong enough on hair wash days so I ended up having to stand in the bath tub (which didn’t drain at all) with the hand held which got pretty cold with the open top bathroom breeze in the evening but the pressure was atleast decent! One last thing is the lack of cleaning. Our villa was cleaned only twice in 2 whole weeks (one time of which we actually had to go and ask them to clean it becuase it had been over a week) which I have never experienced in Bali before. They are usually very good at cleaning the villas in other places I have stayed. The pool and the open bathroom would get super dirty with leaves and dead bugs, by the end of our stay there was a lot of dead bugs around the sink area in the bathroom.

Very flexible check-in time, everyone friendly and helpful. Location is quite close to many awesome restaurants, but a bit hidden and difficult to find. The villa is very beautiful and brand new, really a good place for a couple. They also made a beautiful welcome decoration and flowers for our wedding anniversary.

Only one thing, on the last day we didn't have water for about 3hours, luckily we could wait, but something to keep in mind that apparently happens quite frequently. I think the toilet deserves a bit of maintenance and the shower too, all minor things, I still highly recommend to stay here.

The villa was beautifully furnished, the bed was super comfortable, the air con was cold, WiFi was fast and staff were outstanding.

The location was not very good and the shower water had a poor smell to it. After a few days the bathroom had quite the stench. Also, we did not get a replacement of clean towels and due to the bathroom being outdoors and frequent rain (wet season) the towels did not dry.
