My paradise Genova

A truly memorable stay in Nervi — we’ll definitely be back We absolutely loved our stay here. I’d been to Genoa before and stayed in several different places, but this was genuinely something special. Yes, the property is up a steep hill — but hills rather come with the territory around Genoa! For us, the location was part of its charm. The views are spectacular, and travelling with our dog, Scout, we loved having so many beautiful walks straight from the property, heading up into the hills and surrounding countryside. There are also lovely places nearby to swim and explore. It’s very easy to walk down into Nervi itself if you’re reasonably fit, and Nervi is a wonderful place to stay. The parks are beautiful, the harbour is full of lovely, very reasonably priced places to eat, with everything from seafood to vegan options, and Genoa itself is easily accessible. The local train line is brilliant too — I was able to meet friends further along the coast in Sori with no difficulty at all. The apartment itself was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed, but what made the stay particularly memorable were our hosts. They were incredibly warm, friendly and generous. The whole family helped us with our (far too much!) luggage up the hill, they made a huge fuss of Scout, and when there was a family birthday during our stay, they even very kindly shared some birthday cake with us. Such a lovely gesture. We stayed here as part of a longer trip around Italy by train with our dog and only booked a couple of nights. We genuinely wished we had stayed longer. Next time we’ll bring much less luggage — entirely our fault! — and stay for longer. A beautiful place, wonderful views and genuinely lovely hosts. Our time in Nervi became one of the really memorable parts of our Italian adventure, and we would happily return.
