STILLMOSS Ella

Although we only stayed here for two nights, we honestly felt like we were at home. ❤️ The hosts, a wonderful married couple, were absolutely amazing — incredibly kind, welcoming and genuinely helpful. They gave us advice whenever we needed it, and whenever they happened to be at the accommodation and we needed to get somewhere, they even kindly drove us part of the way. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcome and cared for. And the breakfasts were absolutely perfect! 👌🏻Everything was fresh, delicious and prepared with so much care. Unfortunately, during our second night we had some stomach problems, and they immediately took care of us and tried to help. They even went out of their way to find us a natural herbal supplement to help with our digestion. It really showed us how genuinely thoughtful and caring they are.

This was a very peaceful place to rest, very close to the town of Ella and tucked away in leafy green trees. The host couple are incredibly kind and so generous and warm, dropping us off into town and bus stops and also helping us to book our bus to next destination and offering driving services to other destinations. We were treated with a gigantic breakfast each morning with plenty of fresh fruit and eggs, roti, pancakes and curd with honey collected from the property. The hosts also offer cooking classes for guests. They also provided us with a convenient scooter rental so we could explore Ella surrounds. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and modern and it was our best accommodation on the trip! There is also a fridge and microwave and tea making which came in handy. Undoubtedly the best accommodation we stayed at during our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. The couple who run the guest house are incredibly kind and generous, offering free pick up and drop off from Ella/bus terminal to the accommodation, as well as an included massive multicourse breakfast each morning, with fresh plates of fruit, egg hopper, Sri Lankan curries, avocado toast, and more offered. Rooms were very clean and the surrounds very quiet and calming. They also helped us to arrange a scooter rental at a fair price which we were able to drop off at the accommodation. The location is is about 2km from the main area of Ella, however most of the sites in the area you need to leave Ella to see anyway, and by staying outside of Ella you are staying in much more quiet and peaceful area. There are some local restaurants around so you do not need to travel into Ella for lunch or dinner, unless you are craving western food, but even if you wanted to it is a walkable distance or a very short tuktuk or moto ride. Honestly this place is incredible, and if you're coming to Ella you're doing yourself a disservice by staying anywhere else and not meeting the lovely hosts!

This is the best place in Sri Lanka. Everything was just amazing and perfect. If there was an option to give 20 stars rating I would have done it. The location of this place is just very few minutes away from the main center of Ella and is very quiet and peaceful. Mr. yapa and his wife were truly the most welcoming people I have seen in life. They always made sure that everything was accordingly. I had booked a room without AC ( economy ) , but without any additional cost they provided us the luxurious room with a splendid view and the AC ( although you don’t need an AC, as the weather here is easily manageable without it ) . But it’s really kind of them. All the other rooms are also spacious and with an amazing view and sounds of the forest and nature. Ms. Maria makes the best breakfast, not only that they even took special care of us just like our own parents do , although breakfast is included but they insisted to give us the lunch and dinner out of love. They even know the best spots and places to go around. They even provide the bike for rent through a close friend. We even decided to extend our stay beyond the decided dates. Definitely recommend this place to everyone and I would love to go back and stay there again sooner.
