5 Bedroom House By Travel Lets Holiday Homes Donegal With Sweeping Lake & Hill Views

The house is in a lovely location with fantastic views. It is very central to a lot of attractions. It has all the amenities that a family would need and it was extremely well furnished and comfortable. The open plan living area is fantastic for a family stay and the furniture is comfortable. The outdoor area at the front is great and there is plenty of parking.

When we arrived at the property there was a very large pile of rubbish sitting at the corner of the property. The rubbish was strewn every where. Someone did come to collect the rubbish a few hours after we arrived (approx 8pm). Unfortunately some of the rubbish - egg shells, tissues, wrappers and q-tips were still lying in the gravel and hedges at the back of the property which was unsightly. The property itself could have done with a really good deep clean. There were cobwebs in the living areas, main bathroom and bedrooms. It didnt look like the floor had been hoovered in the main living area before we arrived. The main oven in the property didn't heat up and the BBQ had been removed as it was broken. The only other critism would be that the property is quite hard to find. It would be a good idea to have a sign for the name of the house at the roadside.

The location and size of the property are great the views could be stunning if the property had better maintenance and if the hedges were cut back to allow the view to be utilised, this was very disappointing as the pictures online are clearly very old taken before it became overgrown destroying the fabulous scenery with a bit of maintenance it could be spectacular, house is a great size and well laid out it has some great features the upstairs is designed and decorated brilliantly and is cosy and very comfortable and the two lounge areas and open plan dining is great we really enjoyed this aspect but again was spoilt because we couldn’t get take full advantage of the views. Downstairs of the property needs attention and overgrowth sorted and the house would be worth every penny and we would definitely be regular returning customers but as it stands we couldn’t bring ourselves to return due to the lack of maintenance at the property which is very disappointing.

The property needs a lot of work downstairs, the downstairs bedrooms are damp and the beds and bedding were damp our clothes smelled of damp after the five days, the windows needs cleaned as they are absolutely disgusting inside and out, the hedges are so badly overgrown it ruins the stunning views and when I say stunning I mean stunning it just needs regular maintenance but clearly it doesn’t get any maintenance and only the minimum amount of time money and effort are spent on the property and this shows throughout the downstairs, the sofa is broken on one side the dishwasher seal is broken but we didn’t notice this until our last day as we had previously used the sink for dishes , the kitchen is dated and the cupboards are falling down and feel loose almost ready to fall off, again just general maintenance and care taken of the property would make such a difference, the dampness definitely need addressed in the 3 downstairs bedrooms. The bins are a huge issue too the bins are at the bottom of the lane and they were full when we arrived to the point that the lids were open on the second day we were there we returned to the property to find someone had left a dirty nappy on the top of one of the bins and this had been picked apart by birds etc that was a horrible sight but the bins were so fit to burst this couldn’t be rectified the bins needs to be emptied on a more regular basis for a property that holds a large number of people we had to contact the letting agent (who were great) to ask what to do with the rubbish we had before we left as the instructions state all rubbish must be taken to bins on lane. The team at travel lets are great and very responsive and helpful but the house just needs some tlc and it would be brilliant. Such a pity such a beautiful house in a great location is left to fall apart like it has been.
