Guest House by Morea

A beautiful guesthouse in a fabulous location, with access to gorgeous amenities in the sister hotel. The staff were exceptional and made me feel so welcome.

It was ideally located with a great pool and two nice bars and restaurants. Staff were all very friendly. Facilities in the main hotel are great and breakfast was fantastic

Really really surprised after staying 7 nights as our first stop on our honeymoon (we got married 5 days before staying) that there was nothing in the room to mark the occasion; I know this is an added extra but we have since staying we have stayed in an Airbnb for only 2 nights (for a tenth of the price!!) and received a bottle of wine which puts it into further context. It was mentioned at the time of booking and we even showed photos of the wedding whilst checking in so it honestly felt like the stay was transactional rather than a memorable experience. We also didn’t have regular housekeeping, only 4 days of our stay and they never replenished the two biscuits they provided that we ate the first night (after a 12 hour flight) which I’ve never experienced before over a lengthy stay. The drains also smelt quite strong in the bathroom and I hate the design of a wet room, especially when a bathroom is small (everything just ends up getting wet). We return to Cape Town at the end of the trip and probably wouldn’t return to the hotel, albeit the facilities and location was lovely.

As instalações são novas e muito boas, apesar de eu ter achado o travesseiro muito alto e não tinham outro mais baixo para disponibilizar. O fato de poder utilizar a estrutura do hotel (academia, café da manhã) foi muito bom, e ainda assim ter uma cozinha com acessórios disponíveis para fazer uma refeição e não gastar com restaurante foi ótimo! E o baixo custo da Guest Gouse comparado ao hotel é realmente um diferencial! Se não fosse o problema da insegurança com relação a idoneidade dos funcionários estaria tudo ótimo!

Tivemos um sério problema com relação a segurança com nossos pertences deixados no quarto já que pegamos uma funcionária dentro do quarto (mesmo com a placa de "não perturbe" pendurada na porta!), e depois ao verificar o dinheiro que tínhamos guardado notamos falta de uma quantia, claramente fomos roubados! Para piorar a situação, ao relatarmos o fato para uma recepcionista do hotel, a mesma não tomou nenhuma atitude, sendo cúmplice do ocorrido. Somente após eu ir atrás da gerente do hotel foi que deram mais atenção ao meu relato e disseram que tomariam providências e fariam investigações para averiguar. No entanto fomos embora dois dias depois e me disseram que ainda não tinham conseguido concluir a investigação, mas que continuariam investigando até comprovar o fato e tomar as devidas providências. Pegaram meu email e número de celular para me deixar a par da conclusão dos fatos mas até hoje não recebi nenhuma mensagem! Apesar de o hotel ser Marriot e a Guest House ser parte do "complexo" do hotel, deixaram muito a desejar com relação a segurança dos hóspedes e idoneidade de seus funcionários! Pra mim, não valeu a estadia, já que passamos os outros dias bastante inseguros e com uma sensação de desconforto!
