Agriturismo Podere Cortilla - La Stalla Podere Cortilla is situated at an altitude of 250 metres on a hillside in the beautiful landscape of the Era Valley near the historic Etruscan town of Volterra (6 km). The surrounding area is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Tuscany with its typical hill formations and characteristic vegetation. The country house is surrounded by more than 23 hectares of open countryside: woods, meadows, olive groves, vineyards and cereal fields. Here you will find an ideal place for a peaceful holiday in a still very unspoilt natural environment. With around 11,000 inhabitants, Volterra offers a comprehensive infrastructure, supermarkets, specialised shops, boutiques, restaurants of all kinds and price ranges. Cities such as Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Siena and San Gimigniano are between 30 and 80 kilometres away and the Mediterranean is only 40 kilometres away. There are no fewer than 15 golf courses in Tuscany. La Stalla has a large terrace with table and chairs in the courtyard right outside the front door. A highlight is the large pool (14 x 7 metres) with equipment and storage room and comfortable sun loungers and parasols and a spacious terrace with views of the wonderful countryside. The carport with 8 parking spaces has a large photovoltaic system on the roof, which contributes to our energy requirements. The garden and lawn areas around the house allow you to move freely and settle down with seating and loungers. A barbecue invites you to rustic barbecue evenings, where you can also have breakfast in the shade of vines, sit together or read a book. A table tennis table allows for sporting activities. La Stalla is a large holiday flat (145 m²) for up to 8 people. Its architectural features include the exceptionally beautiful, well-preserved cross-arched ceilings. The flat forms a separate house with two floors. It has 2 living rooms, 3 bedrooms with orthopaedic beds, a spacious kitchen with dining room, 2 shower rooms and a guest WC. Each living room has an open fireplace. Upstairs there is a panoramic window with far-reaching views of the beautiful landscape of the Era Valley and access to the small terrace. The rustic paved courtyard serves as a large terrace. The furnishings are authentic Tuscan. The kitchen furniture is made of solid walnut wood with worktops made of real granite. The equipment includes a dishwasher, a cooker with 4 ceramic hobs and an oven, a fridge, a coffee machine and a toaster as well as a hairdryer. There is air conditioning and heating and a constant central hot water supply as well as satellite TV with numerous German programmes and a stereo system with CD player. A washing machine is centrally available. Podere Cortilla is situated on a hillside in the particularly beautiful landscape of the Era Valley, close to the historic Etruscan town of Volterra. Here, 6 km away, you will find all shopping facilities, supermarkets, specialised shops, museums and churches, educational, sports and leisure facilities. The beautiful surroundings invite you to go hiking and cycling. Volterra lies at the centre of the "cultural triangle" of Pisa-Florence-Siena. The whole of Tuscany is within easy reach: Florence 79 km, Pisa 63 km, Siena 51 km, Lucca 70 km, San Gimigniano 30 km, Pisa airport 61 km, Pontedera railway station 43 km, golf course 30 km, the Mediterranean is only 40 km away. Podere Cortilla is a farm with 23 hectares of land, including fields and woods, a vineyard and several olive groves. We make our own natural wine, mainly from San Giovese grapes, and produce a high quality olive oil, which our guests can taste and buy.
