About this house rental

In the charming village of Le Vaudoué–with the forest of Trois Pignons and its famous bouldering areas on one side, and rolling horse paddocks and lavender fields on the other–this little house is a cozy hideout for solo travelers or couples, with extra room for one or two little ones (or very close friends). It was completely renovated in 2021, and then refreshed in 2025, preserving the old stonework walls and high ceilings while adding the modern conveniences. You’ll enter the house through its private courtyard. You can also park in the courtyard if you’d like, but plenty of other free parking is available on the street. Just inside the front door is the main living space and kitchen, which is small without feeling cramped. The high ceilings and large skylights keep it open and light, and it has just enough room for the necessities of cooking and enjoying proper meals, and relaxing afterwards: a four-person table, under counter refrigerator, induction stove-top, combined microwave and convection oven, dishwasher, and the regular small appliances (drip coffee maker and moka pot, electric kettle, toaster) and of course dishes, silverware, and good quality cooking knives. There’s also a couch and flat-screen TV, and a fast, fibre-optic WIFI connection. Just off the living space is the main bedroom, with natural travertine floors, stone walls, and a large sliding glass doorway giving onto the private courtyard. Built-in drawers underneath the 140 x 190 double bed have plenty of room for a few weeks worth of clothes. The house uses hotel-quality bedding and linen throughout. Also on the main floor is the bathroom, with shower, single sink, WC, and washing machine. By a “Japanese” staircase (also known as an offset staircase) from the main room you can access the landing and sleeping nook. Though this nook is too short for an adult to stand up, it has two 80 x 190 single beds on tatami mats, it’s own skylight, and is a great little “nest” for the kids, as long as they’re comfortable going up and down the stairs. And of course there’s the courtyard, where you’ll probably want to be if it’s nice out. There’s a four person table and umbrella, as well as lounge chairs. And for the climbers, two full-size crash pads, one “slider” pad, and a stick-brush are at your disposal under the awning. The whole house and all its amenities are yours to enjoy during your stay, and the access is private. (The owners have a couple clearly-marked private items stashed under the awning of the courtyard, that’s all. And of course the owners are only there when the house is not rented). Upon arrival, you'll receive a warm welcome from Nadège's Concierge. Nadège and her team have carefully prepared your accommodation with a hotel-style attention to detail and material, using sustainable practices. They will be available throughout your stay if needed and can make helpful local recommendations. Nadège's Conciergerie's contact information will be available in your accommodation. You can use Airbnb messaging, text messages, and the phone in case of an emergency. Nadège's Conciergerie is located at 21 avenue de Ganay in Milly-la-Forêt. Hannah and Dain, the owners, are long-time climbers who have been visiting the magic forest of Fontainebleau for decades. The house is hosted by Nadège’s Conciergerie, and she can welcome you and provide you the keys at her storefront in Milly-la-Forêt between 5pm and 7pm on the day of your arrival, or for late arrivals she’ll set up the lock-box at the house. Please let us know your arrival time as soon as possible, to keep things running smoothly. To confirm your reservation, please review the rules and check-in and check-out guidelines. Before you arrive, we will send the welcome booklet, which is full of useful information. The listing inventory is also found in the welcome booklet, and you’ll have 24 hours to let us know if there’s a violation or problem on your check-in. We can also arrange for a cleaning and linen change during your stay if you’d like, which is an extra expense of course, but might be a nice service for our long-term guests.
