it was very spacious and lots of home comforts such as salt and vinegar and cleaning equipment. the garden is just perfect. very quiet area even with a pub a few yards away. beds are comfy and it’s much bigger than you think. perfect base to see all of brightlingsea and surrounding areas.
the stairs are very steep. Our dog struggled to get down them and she’s not old. we were really worried she would fall down them. If small children are staying I would advise taking a stair gate. we were warned about the stairs so can’t really grumble.

Location was brilliant. Excellent for exploring Essex and Brightlingsea was lovely. It was a cosy house with good facilities in a very quiet area and a Co-op was literally 5 minutes walk away. Would rate the cottage as 3 star not 4 for the reasons stated below....
Was very surprised to not find a welcome pack on arrival. Have always been provided with one, on numerous cottage breaks, with at least some milk. A half-eaten cake was in a cupboard and a stained tea-towel put for our use. There was a broken chair in the bathroom and a 2nd bedside lamp would have been useful in the main bedroom.

The house was exactly as described, and the host was very informative and was available to contact before and during my stay. There was an abundance of items in the house which was very helpful throughout the stay.

Not the cleanest, bathroom was downstairs and the stairs are very steep
