About this apartment rental

Historic 18th-century cottage in the medieval town center “Staedli” of Waldenburg. Stay in the midst of living history, with a rare 600-year-old medieval stone wall embedded in the rear of the house. Waldenburg dates back to the early 15th century and is crowned by castle ruins on a hill offering sweeping views of the Jura Mountains. Ideal for hikers, nature lovers, photographers, and artists. In the summer of 2026, the town will become the “Ville des Arts” with around 40 sculptures, transforming every walk into an open-air gallery.

The space:
Step inside a characteristic 18th-century cottage in the medieval “Staedli” of Waldenburg, where a rare 600-year-old city wall whispers stories from the past.
Your private half of the house offers two spacious double bedrooms, a large bathroom with washer and dryer, an additional toilet on the ground floor, and a well-equipped kitchen for relaxed, comfortable living. The owner lives quietly in the other upper half of the house. Up to two dogs are welcome. Surrounded by the hills of the Jura, castle ruins, and timeless charm.

Guest access:
The owner welcomes guests personally and hands over the keys to the vacation area of the holiday home.

There is an old pub with character and 2 other restaurants, a church, a walk-in self-service tourist information center, a cultural space for art and exhibitions, and a café selling local products, which is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays – all just a few minutes' walk from the house. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and all day on Sundays and public holidays.
