Lock Keepers Cottage at Salterhebble

We absolutely loved our stay here and honestly could have stayed much longer. The cottage is even bigger and more beautiful than it looks in the photos, and it genuinely felt like somewhere you could happily live rather than just stay for a couple of nights. It’s beautifully decorated throughout, really comfortable and incredibly well thought out. The owners seem to have considered absolutely everything you might need, which made the whole stay feel so easy. The beds were really comfortable, the rooms felt spacious and cosy at the same time, and the whole place had such a lovely atmosphere. The setting is gorgeous too. You can hear the peaceful sound of the water outside, which was so relaxing, and although people do occasionally pass by on the walks nearby, you really don’t hear anyone from inside so it still feels completely private and peaceful. The outdoor space is another huge bonus, with a lovely seating area and hot tub which makes it feel even more special. It would be perfect for sitting outside in the warmer months, but we also kept saying how amazing it would be in winter with the fires on and the hot tub outside. There are beautiful walks straight from the cottage, a lovely coffee van right outside which was perfect in the morning, and plenty of lovely places to eat all less than 15 minutes away by car for lunch or dinner. Such a special cottage, beautifully done and incredibly comfortable. We would absolutely come back and would happily stay for much longer next time.

The beds were super comfy! It was very cosy especially in the evening when the log fire was lit.

The location was excellent . The property is lovely

It was stuffed full of nicknacks and really heavy curtains which it didn’t need in my opinion. The upstairs bedroom was very small and one of the windows was painted shut so couldn’t open it . We needed air so badly . Luckily we had taken a fan .

Main kitchen lounge area was lovely

Stairs were dangerously steep , people walking past front window looking in so not much privacy
