This cosy holiday home with balcony terrace is located right on the edge of the forest in the "Hohes Venn" nature reserve between the German-Belgian border and the Eifel National Park. The semi-detached house is located approx. one kilometre away from a small village.
The holiday home, which was newly renovated in 2008, has a living space of 80 m² and is divided into a triple bedroom, a living and dining room, a separate kitchen and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The bedroom has a double bed with two single mattresses and two bedside tables on both sides. Next to the bedside table on the right is a single bed for a third guest. Two wall-mounted reading lamps provide light. The subtle African decorations consisting of wooden giraffes and wall paintings of these animals and zebras create a cosy atmosphere with the natural-coloured, robust wooden furniture in the brightly painted room. Upon entering the living room, a comfortable living oasis consisting of two leather canapés with a side table and a leather armchair invites you to relax after a day out. Directly in front of it, an open quarry stone fireplace provides cosy warmth on cold days. You can obtain the necessary firewood from the landlords. Next to the fireplace, a television with satellite TV provides entertainment in the evening. Behind the living area, a dining table with six chairs is set up as a window seat, from where you have a view of the balcony terrace, the pastureland in front of the house and the natural surroundings when dining together. The separate kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with an electric hob, oven, fridge with freezer compartment and small electrical appliances such as a microwave, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The daylight bathroom has a walk-in shower, WC, wash hand basin with hairdryer and a towel dryer. You also have access to a wireless internet connection. To use this, you only need to go to the landlord's guesthouse 300 metres away. This means that you can also be reached on holiday with the devices you have brought with you, organise your holiday plans on site and send your holiday greetings with photos directly to your friends.
A special feature of this holiday home is that dogs and horses are very welcome. If you would like to bring your own horses, you can also watch them from the balcony in the neighbouring meadows. Grazing areas and horse boxes can be booked for a fee and on request. Your horse will feel at home on the fenced meadows and in the horse boxes or grazing paddocks. The estate is affiliated to the Eifel zu Pferd association as a trail riding centre.
One step through the outside door takes you to the spacious balcony terrace, which is furnished with four garden chairs and a garden table, giving you the opportunity to take your meal outside without further ado. From here, you can enjoy the far-reaching views of the fabulous natural surroundings as far as neighbouring Belgium. You can park your car directly in the car park in front of the house.
Further afield, the village of Kalterherberg is just one kilometre away. There, a restaurant and a small grocery shop, which provides basic supplies, await your visit. The historic town of Monschau with its old buildings, half-timbered houses and a castle is 8 kilometres away. Alternatively, you can also walk there in around 1.5 hours. For nature lovers, the surrounding area offers numerous hiking trails and cycle routes.
