NomadStay Horizon Hanoi - 24 Hours Stay - Check in Anytime

The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Everything was in good working order. It included a washer/dryer, a table suitable for working, and decent WiFi. The kitchen is basic but has enough to cook or reheat simple meals. The staff were quite kind and patient considering how grumpy and jetlagged I was on arrival. The local area is quiet (for the centre of Hanoi) and close to lots of nice restaurants, bars, and so on.

Check in was very frustrating. Both the listed name and address are incorrect, and I was turned away by non-English speaking desk staff because I was at the "wrong address". When I got in touch with the hosts via Zalo, it turns out it was the right place, but the front desk staff seemed unaware that the name and address on Booking do not match the actual name and address. On top of that, I prearranged and double confirmed early check in. However, on the day, I was forced to wait an extra 3 hours after the agreed time. Don't promise early check in and then withdraw it without even bothering to notify your guests! The apartment itself could have been cleaned better: there were quite a few hairs around the place, stains on the bedding, and I had to kill several mosquitoes.

The early check-in option really made a difference for us.

This place is perfect for slow travel. It didn’t feel like a tourist hotel at all, but more like living in the neighborhood. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, and I loved starting my mornings walking to the local market and having breakfast at nearby local eateries.

Good location; fully-featured room; great value; 24-hour reception.

1. Cleaning issue: There was a sticky residue on the countertop plus a leftover fingernail from the previous occupant. 2. Correct change was not available upon check-in; I agreed to receive the change upon check-out two days later; however, when checking out, they still did not have the correct chance and short-changed me a few thousand VND which is basically nothing; however, in principal, errors like this—however small—should be in the customer's favour—not the business. 3. The shower caulking has failed; the entire washroom floor becomes flooded post-shower. This is a normal affair for many south-east Asian showers but not intended in this case.
