Golden House Vatican - Regolo

- Modern and recently renovated room; obviously, a good taste of an interior designer - Clean - Diffusers - Coffee maker (only works with Esselunga coffee pods, not Starbucks) - Location - Security: two gates and a door. One gate and the door were code-protected. - Quietness - The decoration of the building had a great Roman touch/vibe. - Walking distance from Pam Local and Vatican

- Minibar. We expected a mini-fridge to hold some fruit and ice cream; however, it had enough space for a few default bottles and cans, which were not complimentary. - Mattress and duvet were very warm (polyester); you wake up in sweats. - No slippers. - Bin did not have a bag. - There was no "Do not disturb" sign, and the staff were noisy in the hall, talking loudly. We did not like unexpected knocks on the door. - TV channels were limited; we expected some international or English channels. - Basic cleaning is free, but full cleaning comes at an extra cost. - There was a cooking hob in the hallway, but for some reason it was not active. I think it can be an added value to have a kitchenette in the room or a shared one in the hall.

Die Lage: Die Unterkunft liegt hervorragend nahe der Vatikanstadt. Ein perfekter Ausgangspunkt, um Rom zu erkunden. Das Zimmer: Modern gestaltet, frisch saniert und in einem sehr sauberen, gepflegten Zustand. An der Ausstattung an sich gab es absolut nichts auszusetzen.

Kein Internet & keine Kommunikation: Das Gäste-WLAN funktionierte den gesamten Aufenthalt über nicht. Da im Gebäude zudem kaum Mobilfunkempfang war, saßen wir im Funkloch. Der Gastgeber hat auf keine einzige Nachricht (per E-Mail oder Booking) reagiert – trotz vorab versprochener Hilfe. Unangenehmer Check-out: Obwohl die Check-out-Zeit bis 10:00 Uhr ging, klopfte die Reinigungskraft bereits um 09:59 Uhr an der Tür. Beim Öffnen hieß es wortwörtlich „We are waiting for your checkout“. Das gibt einem als Gast direkt ein ungemütliches Gefühl des Rausschmisses. Falsche Versprechen beim Gepäck: Die beworbene Gepäckaufbewahrung existiert nicht sicher. Uns wurde vorgeschlagen, die Koffer einfach unbewacht im für alle Gäste zugänglichen Eingangsbereich stehenzulassen. Wir mussten unser Gepäck daher kostenpflichtig bei einem externen Anbieter unterbringen. Lärm: Die Eingangstür des Hauses ist extrem laut. Da unser Zimmer direkt daran grenzte, war es sehr hellhörig, wenn andere Gäste die Tür unachtsam zufallen ließen. Diese Punkte trüben den Gesamteindruck leider gewaltig.
